Happy Mother’s Day, Carson City! Several family friendly events are occurring around town this weekend. Take a ride on the McKeen Motor Car at the Nevada State Railroad Museum or the Ferris Wheel at RSVP’s Spring Fair and Carnival. A Harmonica and Strings Concert at Empire Elementary School showcases what some of our talented students can do. Get up early and head over to the Carson City Airport if your youngster has any interest in planes: Young Eagles flights are happening today if the weather permits.

Don’t miss opening weekend of the Music Man. Western Nevada Musical Theater Company has just begun its 25th season and is sure to impress. Bike to Work week starts Monday, but Bike Movie night at the Brewery Arts Center is Saturday: animated French film, the Triplets of Belleville is a fun choice. Get yourself in a bicycle frame of mind with the Muscle Powered ride that leaves the Community Center at 9:40 a.m.

It’s a great weekend to get a jump on your garden: the Greenhouse Project holds their annual spring plant sale Saturday. If you don’t have the patience to wait for your own fresh produce, head over to the Early Farmers Market in the south parking lot of the Greenhouse Garden Center. While you’re there you might as well check out the Mother’s Day Rose Sale.

This week's Pet of the Week is Dream. This beautiful boy is three years old and has a story of survival. He came to us in need of serious medical attention with deep wounds on his neck and cuts to his face and front legs.

With the immediate action of our clinic team, this guy was on the road to recovery. As the stress and pain of healing lessened, we started to see tail wags and a much more confident dog.

On August 19, 2024 the Lyon County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division, Major Crimes Unit identified 27 year old Reno, NV resident Thomas James Wilson as one of the two outstanding suspects in the armed robbery in Stagecoach, NV that occurred on August 17, 2024.

On Wednesday, at around 2:10 a.m., Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a male who arrived at the Carson Tahoe Hospital after being shot in the leg. Deputies located the crime scene in the 3400 block of Champion Drive in East Carson City.
