This is a fundraising event for Muscle Powered, and is intended to be a kind of community yard sale specifically for “muscle-powered” gear: bicycles, bike parts, hiking and backpacking gear, skiing and snowshoeing equipment, and general outdoor gear.

This season's event is the 12th organized ride, and will take place Friday, October 26 beginning at 6 pm with the first stop at the Tap Shack at 112 Rice Street. The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

The annual Westside Cruise ia a part of Bike Month, and one of the zanier events. Dress you and your bike up and head off to explore the historic district. Happy one year Anniversary to Battle Born Social. The restaurant and lounge will be celebrating with cocktails, appetizers and more; there is a $20 cover for the event, but that money will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada and Carson City Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program.

Early voting for the 2018 Primary has begun, and all registered Carson City voters can head down to the Clerks office in the Courthouse to cast their ballot. If you’re in Minden, or up for a short drive, check out the Farmers Market on Esmerelda Street. It runs from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., so you’ll have plenty of time to grab something fresh to throw in with dinner.

Let me tell you, downtown is going to be hopping, not to mention the Early Season Farmers Market making its seasonal debut in the parking lot at W. Musser and N. Nevada – just behind Due Sorella. Take the kids down to Bailys Pond at Fuji Park for the annual Tom Brooks Memorial Kids’ Fishing Day. A trip to the train museum comes with the opportunity to ride on the Historic McKeen Motor Car.

Don’t let your parade get rained out though, downtown Carson will march right through this wet stuff. The early Spring Farmers Market debuts today behind Due Sorella at Nevada and Musser Streets. Grab the kids and enjoy today’s open house with free admission at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. Stick around for the monthly Downtown Business Association wine walk and find something for Mothers’ Day at one of our wonderful local shops.

Meet at the Brewery Art Center, costumes are highly encouraged, and then meander around our beautiful downtown with some other fun people. Bike to Work week runs Monday through Friday, June 6-10 with Friday being Bike to Work Day and Saturday a Bike to Work week party at the Brewery Arts Center. There are several bike-related events throughout the month, including the upcoming Epic Ride, Carson City Off-Road, Friday June 17 through Sunday June, 19.
