For the first time in Carson City, a Latino Arte bilingual production with local Latinx actors and actresses. Entertaining and well performed, astonishing costumes, a play that brings values for the whole family.

With a recent sanitation fogger obtained by the Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City Cinema Club will show its first film of the year, the1953 classic “Mogambo” this Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the BAC Performance Hall, 511 West King Street.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region. The November Gobble Wine Walk kicks off in downtown Carson City followed by a new “Paths and Pedals” bike tour. Sierra Lutheran High School is also hosting a Christmas craft fair on Saturday. Combined with live music and virtual events, there’s plenty of activity happening in the state capital! The Mile High Jazz Band Association presents a jazz-related drive-in movie, “High Society,” on Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20, as part of the 2020 Jazz & Beyond Festival.

It will be shown in the parking lot of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street, in Carson City. Admission is free. Show time is available when calling for reservations, which are required for each vehicle and can be made by calling 775-883-4154.

In a drive-in movie feature, Carson City Classic Cinema Club presents the western favorite "Shane" this Friday at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall parking lot.

Beginning tonight, family summer drive-in movies begin in Carson City and will show weekly, Wednesday and Thursday evenings through August 13 in the parking lot of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Space is limited and RSVP is required.

The thaw continues around the capital city as we head into Tuesday with highs expected in the mid-50s. Events lined up feature morning and evening walks hosted by Muscle Powered, Carson City TRIAD will give a presentation at the senior center on scams targeting older adults. Also on tap, the Carson City Classic Cinema Club presents a Jimmy Stewart favorite "You Can't Take it With You" at the BAC; if you love music, there's Big-Band Jazz X2 at the Carson City Community Center, and you can join Carson Now as it celebrates its 10th anniversary at Living the Good Life.

In his break-out role, Jimmy Stewart plays the son of a powerful banker who falls in love with a girl (Jean Arthur) from an eccentric family of free-thinkers, in this 1938 romantic comedy, directed by Frank Capra. Also featured are Lionel Barrymore, Ann Miller and Spring Byington.

Heading into Tuesday, the capital city will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint with events throughout the day. Other activities include a morning and evening walk hosted by Muscle Powered, a dinner fundraiser for the Roman family at Pizza Factory, a community dinner and meeting invite to the Order of Eastern Star, a showing at the BAC of the 1941 film classic "The Lady Eve" and a concert featuring the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus with violin soloist Elizabeth Pitcairn at Shepherd-Sierra Lutheran Church. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the KTVN Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn, Homestead Holidays at the Silver Saddle Ranch and more.
