Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region. The Dayton Chamber’s 27th annual “Making A Difference” Golf Tournament arrives Friday. Carson City Kiwanis is hosting its seventh annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day on Saturday with several activities for all to enjoy. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The American Cancer Society is hosting a poker run Saturday at Mills Park, and a free lacrosse clinic for kids ages 6-12 will be held at John L. Harvey Field. The Nevada Humane Society is virtually hosting its annual “Adopt a Duck” fundraiser for interested participants. It will start at Mills Park (Seely Loop entrance) off of Saliman. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and even horse and buggy are welcome, all makes, years and styles, "ALL ARE WELCOME". A special drive-by luminaria will be held tonight in honor of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

More springlike weather around the capital city is ahead Ash Wednesday with a daytime high near 65. Events include a Real ID town hall meeting at the Carson City DMV, the economic impact of pro soccer in Northern Nevada will be featured at NNDA's Business Edge at Casino Fandango, Carson City Schools offers the first of three pre-kindergarten programs for parents and will also host a separate strategic plan meeting. Meanwhile, Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness hosts a yoga class, plus Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and more.

Heading into Tuesday, activities and events lined up around the capital city include morning and evening walks hosted by Muscle Powered, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs, a regular meeting of the Carson City School Board, the Nevada Artists Association Judged Winter Show at its Brewery Arts Center gallery, Carson Victory Rollers present a new skater program, plus classes at Yaple's Ballroom and more.

Meet us on Saturday September 28th. We will be at the lower parking lot at the WalMart on Topsy Lane from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The cost is $5 per person with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

There will be a dinner time fundraiser for Carson City, Douglas County Relay for life this Tuesday evening, August 27 at Firehouse Subs in Carson City.

Save the date and join us at Mills Park on Oct. 5, 2019 for Relay for Life of Carson City and Douglas County. It will be a day to CELEBRATE, REMEMBER AND FIGHT BACK and we work towards ending those words "YOU HAVE CANCER"! There will be food, music and entertainment to celebrate the day. This year we have added a 5K to Relay that will be a glow run starting at 6:30pm.
