Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Nevada Artists Association New Year’s Show, and there’s a historical Curry family presentation at the Nevada State Museum. Famed country rock band I See Hawks in L.A. perform at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse on Saturday. Heading into the Veterans Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days. Events include live comedy, art and heater, multiple holiday craft fairs around Carson City and Carson Valley as well as several Veterans Day ceremonies and offers of gratitude to vets and active duty members of the U.S. military on Monday. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region Friday through Sunday to celebrate Nevada Day. Activities include the annual parade down Carson Street, a carnival at Mills Park, the 30th annual Nevada Day Classic, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, beard and rock drilling contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit kids and adults of all ages.

Nearly 240 years have passed since Charles Messier created a catalog that made it easier for astronomers to observe objects in space. The French astronomer will be the topic of Jack C. Davis Observatory Director Dr. Thomas Herring’s talk on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Western Nevada College in Carson City.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

Jack C. Davis Observatory in Carson City will provide community members the opportunity to join many astronomy lovers around the world in celebrating the Moon this Saturday, Oct. 5.

Saturday, September 28

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of jam-packed activities over the next three days. Events include the 100th annual Candy Dance in Genoa, the Carson City Community Center Garage Sale, free walks at Nevada State Parks, Virginia City’s Street Vibrations Fall Rally, the 31st annual All-Breed Dog Shows, The Beatles Flashback tribute band concert and much more!

CARSON CITY — Nevada residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Nevada Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28 with a “fee-free” day at Nevada’s State Parks. Park fees, including entrance, camping (Saturday night) and boating, where applicable, will be waived at state parks throughout Nevada.

Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! It’s going to get hot again today with a high of 93, but don’t worry, as we get out further into the week the weather will turn more autumnal with highs in the 70s. It could be the last hot day for a while, at least until a freak 90s+ hot day in November followed by a week long blizzard, so enjoy it while it’s here!

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by, including the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival, Carson City Library’s End of Summer Learning Challenge, history talks at Mormon Station Park, train rides in Virginia City, a sushi cooking class at Sierra Chef on Sunday and more!

Saturday, August 3

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days, including Hot August Nights Kickoff Rallies in Virginia City, history walks at Mormon Station Park, pickleball at the Carson City MAC, concerts at the Brewery Arts Center and TJ’s Corral, a Muscle Powered Sunday morning bike ride and more!

A night of fact or fiction is coming to Western Nevada College’s Jack C. Davis Observatory in Carson City. Mike Thomas will provide his take on the legitimacy of the “Legend of King Arthur” on Friday, Aug. 2 at the observatory.

Speaking of “Superhumans,” a night later on Saturday, Aug. 3, Thomas will kick off the observatory’s star party with a slide show presentation of a variety of real people who have abilities who can only be described as “super.”

With a daytime high around 92 and plenty of sunshine, activities lined up around Carson City for Tuesday, July 30, feature a midnight meteor shower gathering at the Jack C. Davis Observatory, morning and evening hikes, a Capital City youth fall baseball meeting, a ladies bike ride, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs, archery at Centennial Park, art showings and more. UPDATE: There's a star party late Monday night into Tuesday morning hosted by Carson City Parks and Recreation and Open Space. For summer’s most visible meteor showers, join the Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space Department at Western Nevada College’s Jack C. Davis Observatory for some late night, educational fun. No pre-registration necessary. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water for night hiking from the Observatory. Head lamps and flashlights are allowed. Parking at the Observatory can be found at 2699 Vanpatten Ave, Carson City. Please call (775) 281-7711 with any questions. This upcoming Monday is the Aquariids Viewing Party starting at 12:00 a.m. Tuesday (technically Monday night).

Heading into Monday, July 29, 2019 and we're wondering how the month went by so quickly. Again we're looking at a fairly typical end of July day weather wise, with sunny skies and a high around 94. On tap around Carson City are athletic, art and speaking events, a life guard camp, a computer coding camp, line dancing lessons and more. Enjoy.
