There are multiple ways to say farewell to summer this weekend. The Best in the West Rib Cook-off is a local favorite, as is the Fallon Cantaloupe Festival. It has finally cooled down a little, so the Downtown Carson Wine Walk is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. Keep reading and have a great time.

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Muller Lane in the Carson Valley will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, April 16 as the Nevada Department of Transportation replaces aging bridge and drainage structures.

Recently released data from the U.S. Census Bureau Foreign Trade Division for 2017 on the total Nevada food and agriculture exports show more than $362 million in annual exports. This is an 8.5 percent year over year increase, and a 106 percent increase since 2013.

You’re going to have some choices to make today. Just how much fun are you looking for, and what kind? CARSON CITY — Nineteen Carson High School Capital FFA students yielded bushels of awards at the Nevada State FFA Conference held at the University of Nevada Reno March 20-24. Most notably, the CHS Career and Technical Education students were honored with the Best Dressed Chapter Award, recognizing the chapter as the most professional chapter at the conference.

Kick off the summer at this year’s Capital City Brewfest! Tickets are on sale now for the annual fundraiser sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carson City and The Fox Brewpub.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife wants to remind sportsmen who have not yet applied for this year’s big game draw that the deadline is fast approaching. All applications must be received by 11 p.m. on Monday, April 16.

Since 1993, Carson City Toyota has matched community donations totaling thousands of dollars. Fortunate Strangers, a West Coast band featuring Scottish and Irish songs, will perform at Carson City’s Brewery Arts Center this Saturday, April 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will be filled with anthems that celebrate humorous and serious songs of love, loss, adventure and yearning.
