8th Annual Interfaith Community Picnic and Food Drive In Carson City
The Interfaith Community of Carson City will host the eighth annual interfaith potluck picnic and food drive on the lawn of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Monday, September 5, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to share food, conversation, music, and fun activities with community members of all faiths.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church once again has graciously volunteered the use of their lawn area at the corner of Division & Telegraph, Carson City. All members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend.
Labor Day is a great time to share food and entertainment with your neighbors. Music and entertainment will be provided from different faith groups, adding to the diversity of the occasion. In addition, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be on hand to provide assistance accept generous nonperishable food donations to benefit the F.I.S.H. food pantry. Of particular note, this year the Interfaith Earthcare is encouraging people to ride their bicycles to the picnic where they will bless them.
All attendees are encouraged to bring a main dish, salad, side dish, or dessert to share on our potluck food banquet. Cold water will be provided, however, you will need to bring your own container for the water, also a set of plates, eating utensils, and lawn chair.
