Carson City’s 'Concept E Bikes' opens retail shop on South Carson Street

Concept E Bikes has been providing bicycles with electric motors seamlessly built into their design throughout Carson City for over two years, based out of their location on Research Way.

Two months ago, they opened a retail location in the old Artisan Cafe building on S. Carson Street, to bring a showroom of their bikes directly to consumers.

Placer County is Open for Responsible Outdoor Travel from Carson City this Fall

Placer County, a 1,400-square-mile destination in Northern California, is inviting responsible leisure travelers in accordance with the California Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Travelers are now permitted to safely enjoy the diverse geography encompassing a range of cities from Olympic Valley to Foresthill, and Auburn to Roseville this fall.

Carson City’s Jazz & Beyond 2020 Music and Art Festival Update

The Jazz & Beyond festival committee is rescheduling many of the events originally planned for August 2020 because of the recent rise in coronavirus cases. However, the committee plans to go ahead with the second annual Open Studios Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23. Admission is free.

greenUP!, a nonprofit organization that provides environmental education to businesses, announced it has received a $12,898 grant from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection Bureau of Sustainable Materials Management 2020 Recycling Grant Program.

Artisan Cafe in downtown Carson City now under new ownership

The Artisan Cafe, located at 701 S Carson St., in downtown Carson City is now under new ownership to begin the new decade.

According to Kira McElroy, who took over the cafe on Jan. 1 with husband Rubin, the previous owner, Jeanne Day, was ready to take on new adventures, and offered to pass along ownership to the husband-wife team.

Carson City wins Levitt Amp Concert Series Grant for Fifth Straight Year

Today, the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation named Carson City, Nevada as one of 20 small to mid-sized towns and cities across America to win a Levitt AMP Grant Award of $25K in matching funds to present a free concert series at The Change Companies Stage. Artists from Carson City, Minden and Gardnerville will be featured at the 25th annual Northern Nevada Artisan Show and Sale this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2 in Reno.

The event’s 25th anniversary will be dedicated to the memory of Jim McCormick, UNR Art Department chair, artist, curator and one of the founders of the show. Admission is free.

Sunday will bring cool temperatures and some sunshine with daytime highs in the mid 60s around the capital city region.
