Sunday, Oct. 2: Things to do around Carson City
The weather cools down just as the fun heats up. Fundraisers, contests, food, football, outhouse races and more. Carson Valley Community Theater has one last performance of ‘The Savannah Sippin Society.’ Pooches in costume are welcome at Genoa’s last Sweet Sippin Sunday: there will be a pet parade at 3 p.m. And for all those brides out there's there's a fall wedding faire at Silver Oak Golf Club. - Bonanza Kennel Club Dog Show at Fuji Park (show and trials 6am-7pm)

- ‘Humongously Huge’ Rummage Sale in the Veterans Memorial Hall: corner of Nevada/Second Streets (9am-3pm; sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association to benefit local veterans)
Take the kids to Reno for the final day of the Annual Celtic Celebration. The Pumpkin Patch Harvest Festival at Corley Ranch is sure to be hit with pig races, a maze, and more.

Help usher in the snow by getting your car washed. The athletes of the Special Olympics will be at 7-Eleven on Highway 50 East. Help out a local Boy Scout reach Eagle Scout by donating your old bike or unwanted parts at the North Carson Walmart.
