Preserving History - Eye of Rie Photography & Tintype
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 05/10/2023 - 5:56pmWhat's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a photographer that specializes in 1800’s tintypes. I work in the process of creating lasting tintypes and ambrotypes that will last for hundreds of years! The art of tintypes dates back to the mid-early 1800’s and is a form of photography that is very tactile. My chemical recipes are the same as what they used back in history, and I create a unique, one-of-a-kind heirloom photo that will last forever. I am the only one offering this in my area, and so far, people are absolutely amazed at the process, and it is truly magical!
Spring in the Gardnerville Ranchos the last day of April
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 04/30/2023 - 2:04pmEnjoy some neighborhood cheer. I love gardening. By far, my favorite garden is in Spring. What started as a few tulips six years ago, has grown to blooms garden wide.
Spring flowers don't last long, however, they bring such joy after our long winters — especially this year's.
I invest in things that bring a smile to my face — that keep me focusing on the positive— on joy — on things I can share with others. A simple flower's bloom brings me back to feeling hope and happiness.

There are tools that worked last year that don’t this; that helped last month that don’t ease today’s burdens.Photography has always been something that inspires me to focus on the world of beauty rather than the day’s difficulties.
