His work ranges from landscapes to flora and fauna; historic buildings to his favorite – cows. Mark has enjoyed photography since he was a kid. It remains a passion to this day. His photos are of areas from Mad Canyon’s majestic peaks to Gardnerville’s Meadows, historic locales from Genoa to Virginia City, barns to classic cars.

About the Artist My Dad gave me my first camera when I was eight. I would lay at the trunk of a tree and shoot upwards. The spark lit a passion that still burns brightly over 50 years later.

This event is counting all birds with a 15 mile diameter circle covering the area contained approximately by the Carson River on the north, the Pine Nut foothills on the East, Bodie Flats on the South and Foothill Road on the West.
Eagles and Raptors Make Their Return to Carson Valley

Douglas County cancels public holiday events due to increase in COVID-19 cases

Evacuations lifted following wildfire in Foothill and Mottsville areas of Douglas County

Forest Service to begin pile burning on Carson and Bridgeport Ranger Districts

Genoa Lakes Ladies' Golf Club President's Cup tournament results
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 07/20/2020 - 2:14pmThe annual Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club President’s Cup tournament took place July 14 and July 16 at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club Ranch and Lake courses. Thirty members competed in the two-day net tournament. Jeri Mihelic won the tournament with a net score of 142. Gail Teig was the runner-up with a score of 143 and Terri Ianiro was the 3rd place winner with a score of 147.
Small fire that started in clothes drier extinguished, according to Carson City battalion chief
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 07/12/2020 - 12:41pmCarson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Sunday afternoon to a laundry room fire in the 1100 block of Genoa Lane in north Carson City.
The fire was called in at around 12:30 p.m. as a structure fire inside a residence. A battalion chief on scene reports the small fire was from a clothing drier that was extinguished by the time they arrived.
Genoa's Candy Dance is cancelled this year due to COVID-19 concerns

WNC graduated a record 650 students, including 94 students from the Jump Start College Program.
Fire in Douglas County closes Jack's Valley Road

At 4:26 p.m. firefighters told dispatch Jack's Valley Road was closed at Eagle Ridge and that the fire was on private land.
