Happy Saturday Carson City! It’s caucus day, are you ready to vote if you are so inclined? Here are some events to do after/instead throughout the Carson City region!

Saturday, February 22
— Nevada Caucus Locations in Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County. Check ins for all locations begin at 10 a.m. Caucuses will be called to order at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 marks the Nevada democratic caucus. The Nevada State Democratic Party listed voting locations around Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County.

— Flying Pig Indoor Flea Market. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall, 701 Old Clear Creek Rd. in Carson City. Come on down to market at Fuji Park in Carson City and find some great treasures, lots of vendors to choose from. There is jewelry, arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles and so much more.

— Cottonwood wrapping volunteer event with Carson City Parks. 10 a.m. Please park at Morgan Mill River Access off Morgan Mill Road, we will be walking 1 mile down Empire Ranch Trail. Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is having a Cottonwood Wrapping volunteer event! We will be installing mesh wire around the base of Cottonwood trees to protect them from being damaged by beavers.

— Guided snowshoe hikes with a ranger on the Carson Ranger District. 10 a.m. at Tahoe Meadows, one mile southwest of the summit of Nevada State Route 431 Mt. Rose Highway. The Carson Ranger District on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is pleased to announce the return of the popular Forest Ranger-led snowshoe walks. The walks begin this Saturday, Jan. 25, and will be offered every Saturday through March 28.

— Family Reading Program at the Carson City Library. 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. at 900 N. Roop St. Through a partnership with the Northern Nevada Literacy Council (NNLC), the Carson City Library helps families read and learn together. This program enables parents to improve their children's literacy skills and model positive family literacy behaviors at home. Each family registered will receive a free book. Each child will get to participate in an art or science activity.

— Father-Daughter Day and Dance in Virginia City. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fathers – take your daughters on a historic journey back in time to Virginia City. Don your finery and dress your daughters like Victorian princesses for a Father-Daughter Day & Dance unlike any other. More than just a dance, all-inclusive ticket-holders enjoy a day chock-full of fun both dads and daughters will enjoy, from delicious, hand-made fudge to old-time photos and more. The day is designed to create an unforgettable experience for dads and daughters, ending with a charming dance at the historic Piper’s Opera House, a perfect location for lasting memories.

— Saturday Beginning Wheel Throwing at Ogres-Holm Pottery. 1 to 4 p.m. at 1215 S. Carson St. The Ogres of Ogres-Holm introduce you to clay in this 6-week open start class, including open studio time, is designed to get you started. It’s a great way to relax on a Saturday afternoon. $175 for six weekly sessions or $45 drop ins.

— Mustang Mardi Gras at the Nevada Governor's Mansion. 4 to 7 p.m. Join Patricia Ackerman in supporting the Wild Horse Preservation League by attending the Mustang Mardi Gras at the Nevada Governor's Mansion! Enjoy the live music and delicious creole and cajun food, all while supporting a great cause. $25 per person.

— Book Signing at Gold Hill Hotel. 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1540 Main St. in Gold Hill, Nev. Nevada Author, Sandie La Nae, and Nevada Historian, Arline La Ferry, will be selling their newest book "Nevada's Oldest Hotel Gold Hill Hotel" at the Gold Hill Hotel on Saturday Feb. 22, 2020. Books can be purchased and autographed by Sandie and Arline.

— Hilarious comedy and mystery dinner theater comes to Carson City. 5:45 p.m. at the Gold Dust West Hotel, 2171 E. William St. Move over — or roll over — Agatha Christie, Lollipop Productions is about to unveil a mystery dinner show that spoofs old-fashioned whodunits, the medical profession, “female problems,” and theater folks!

— Dinner and Wine Tasting Series at Genoa Town Hall. 6 to 9 p.m. at 2287 Main St. in Genoa. Come and enjoy a tasty dinner with wine at the Genoa Town Hall on Saturday, Feb. 22. Gift certificates are available as well as private classes!

— The Brewery Arts Center debuts female version of 'The Odd Couple' in Carson City. 7 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St. Carson City’s theater company, Proscenium Players Inc., is bringing the female version of The Odd Couple to the BAC’s Black Box Theater from February 14-23 for two weekend’s worth of performances.

— Rock N' Bowl Night at Carson Lanes Family Fun Center. 7 to 11 p.m. at 4600 Snyder Ave. Have your own bowling party with family and friends! We turn up the tunes & turn on the party lights every Friday and Saturday. Great discount for groups of 10 or more. — Alias Smith and Live Music at Max Casino. 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at 900 S. Carson St. Alias Smith jams Live on stage at the Cabaret Lounge inside Max Casino! Live music will be rockin’ Carson City all night long so come on down and enjoy.

Sunday, February 23
— Muscle Powered Sunday Bicycle Ride. 9 a.m. Meet at Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Rd, Carson City in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail. Come join Muscle Powered for a free, guided group walk, hike, or ride around Carson City. Muscle Powered is a local non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building.

— Eddy Street Vintage Market Pop-Up in Gardnerville. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1235 Eddy St. Eddy Street Vintage Market started on a whim! Meant to be open for one weekend.. ever…one and done. What happened was nothing short of miraculous. A snowball in the middle of summer. What transpired was an amazing event once per month that combines family, friends and a love of antiques, vintage and repurposed goods.

— Cheese Cooking Class at Sierra Chef. 1 to 3 p.m. at 2292 Main Street Suites 3 and 4 in Genoa. Let’s get cheesy with a delicious cooking class at Sierra Chef! $75 per person, please arrive on time for class.

— Open house this Sunday at Carson City's historic Foreman-Roberts House. 2 to 5 p.m. at 1207 N. Carson St. Come and hear about the highlights of Carson City history. Tours and admission are free. — Carson City Symphony to feature 'LantinXpressions' concert Sunday at community center. 4 p.m. at 851 E. William St. Tickets are $18 general admission; $15 for seniors, students, and Symphony Association members; and free for youth age 18 and under. Tickets are on sale at the Nevada Day Office, 716 N. — World Dance Open Floor Sierra Region. 4 p.m. at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, 1500 Old Hot Springs Rd in Carson City. The next World Dance Open Floor is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 23 at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint. We will be donating all raffles and tips to charities and firefighting efforts.
