October 12, 2020 Lyon County saw a test positivity of 8.2 percent and has experienced an increase week after week since then. As of Monday, Lyon County sits at a rate of 19.0 percent.

COVID testing Tuesday in Yerington following high number of positive tests at assisted living facility

Lyon County, City of Yerington, Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad County Health Care Coalition will hold a COVID testing operation on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.. The testing will be at the new City Hall (Old National Guard Building) located on the corner of Main Street and East Goldfield Avenue.

High Volume of Positive Covid-19 reported at assisted living facility in Yerington

Lyon County officials have been notified that an assisted living facility, Mason Valley Residence, in Yerington had a high number of positive tests for COVID-19.

It is reported that 34 out of 53 tests results were positive.

Lyon County Manager: NV Energy retracts rolling blackout information, no blackouts for Silver Springs, Yerington and Smith Valley

UPDATE FROM LYON COUNTY MANAGER 4:10PM: NV Energy has advised that the earlier reported outages will not occur. Lyon County had been informed by the local office of the outages and has retracted the information. Lyon County regrets any difficulties this may have caused, Jeff Page, Lyon County Manager.

NV Energy is urging customers to conserve electricity Tuesday and Wednesday between 2 and 9 p.m. in order to help offset energy supply issues caused by record-breaking heat throughout the Western United States. The utility has advised Lyon County that residents can expect rolling brownouts or blackouts starting today into tomorrow due to high temperatures.
