Tuesday, Oct. 25: Things to do in Carson City

As October marches along we find ourselves nearing election day. Head to the first floor of the courthouse to earn your 'I Voted' sticker now; early voting continues until Nov. 4. Another way to make your voice heard today is by attending the Arts Town Hall sponsored by the Nevada Arts Association. They are looking for the ways that arts and culture can be improved in the Carson City area, among other things. While the mornings can be chilly, a walk with Muscle Powered along the Freeway Multi-use Path will get your blood pumping. Get that costume ready, a Halloween Dance Party at Carson Lanes kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

• Nevada Artists Association Art Exhibit featuring artists Anna Louise Dardin and Bob Hickox with Photography by Chas. H. McDonnell, III at the Carson Visitor Center (8am-5pm)
• High School Pic[ks] 1, group show of art by area high school in the Community Development building [formerly the BRIC]: 108 E Proctor St (8am-12pm and 1pm-4pm; Artist Reception 5:30pm-7pm)
• Carson City Parks and Recreation Easy Walk: Carson Freeway Multi-Use Path - Meet in front of Starbucks 3325 Retail Drive off College Parkway (8:30am-9:30am, this walk will be level but on uneven ground; in case of wet weather, the walk will occur at the MAC building: 1870 Russell Way; Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the hike meeting site. All walks require closed-toed shoes and water. Hats, sunscreen and walking sticks are recommended)
• Holiday Craft Fair at Browsers Corner Bookstore (9:30am-6pm; sponsored by Friends of the Carson City Library)
• Books and Brags at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada (9:30am-10:30am; included with admission)
• Annual Nevada Day Art Show at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery in the Brewery Arts Center (10am-4pm)
• Flu Vaccination Clinic at the Carson City Library (11am-1pm; No one will be turned away; IMPORTANT: Please bring your insurance card to the clinic. We bill Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurances; sponsored by Carson City Health and Human Services)
