Sunday, June 25: Things to do around Carson City and beyond
How much fun can you pack into a weekend? That isn’t purely a rhetorical question – it’s more of a challenge. Grab the kids for a day at the Dangberg Home Historical Ranch where storytellers are the featured guests. Locals are in the spotlight at the Rockabilly Riot, the Iron Rebels Car Show is for resident cars only. The bells are ringing at the First United Methodist Church. Handbell Ensemble group, Tintabulations, presents a free concert at 7 p.m.

- -- Breakfast and Bowling at Carson Lanes (breakfast served 7:30am -11am, unlimited bowling 9am-12pm; $13, $8 kids 8 and younger)
- -- Muscle Powered Weekly Bike Ride - Meet in the south parking lot of Fremont Elementary School, next to the Linear Ditch Trail (meet at 9am; consists of two loops 10-15 miles long each, this will allow a rider to do 10-15 miles or 20-30 miles; ride pace will vary depending on rider level, but usually about 12-16 mph; All riders must have a bicycle in safe working condition, helmet, and closed toed shoes. - -- Community Yoga with Allison Reitz at Comma Coffee (9am-10am; $10 cash only; beginners are welcome; Bring your mind, body, and mat; a limited number of extra mats will be available)
- -- BattleBorn BMX Racing – Triple Points at the Livermore (Edmonds) Sports Complex: 1555 Livermore Lane (Weather and Track Conditions Permitting; sign-ups 9am-10:30am; State Race Triple Points $35 per rider; must be USABMX member; one-day trial memberships and new rider kits available)
- -- Rides on the 1926 Edwards Motor Car at the Nevada State Railroad Museum (museum open 9am-4:30pm, train runs every half hour 10am-4pm; museum admission $6, under 18 and FNSRM members free; train rides $4 adults, $2 kids and FNSRM members)
- -- Virginia and Truckee Round-trip Steam Train Rides: leave from Carson City Eastgate Depot: on Flint Drive, off U.S. Highway 50 East (Depart Carson City 10am, please arrive 30 minutes early - Depart Virginia City 3pm; $52, seniors and veterans $48, kids 3-16 $32; tickets limited, available online HERE)
- -- Spirit of America Art Show in the Nevada Artists Association Gallery at the Brewery Arts Center (10am-4pm)
- -- T Bucket Alliance National Convention at Mills Park

- -- Bingo fundraiser for Meals on Wheels at Carson City Senior Center (doors 11:30am, 12:30pm-4pm; $10 buy in, extra packs $5, Special games $1 each; 50/50 raffle and door prizes; lunch available; must be 21+)
- -- Carson and Mills Park Railroad Train Rides around Mills Park (train runs every half hour 12pm-5pm; tickets $2 per person or three rides for $5, children two and under are free; hosted by the Carson City Railroad Association)
- -- Family Day at Empire Ranch Golf Course (After 12pm, Kids play free with paid adult green fee, one for one)
- -- Family Golf Clinic at Eagle Valley Golf Course (1pm-2:30pm)
- -- Music Jam Sunday at A to Zen: 1803 N. Carson St. (1pm-3pm; we try to keep it simple so that musicians of all ages and skill levels can participate. We welcome music of all genres and styles; Audience is welcome)
- -- Storytelling Weekend featuring Willy Claflin at the Dangberg Home Historic Ranch Park: 1450 Hwy 88, Minden (1pm-8pm, $5 admission for events after 5:30pm; 1pm-2pm Children’s Interactive Concert with Linda Kennedy and Joan McCammon, free; 3:30pm-5pm Carson Valley Memories – Storytelling Group led by Nancy Raven, free; 5:30pm-6:30pm Chautauqua: “Hank Monk” as portrayed by Larry Lippmann; 6:30pm-8pm Linda Kennedy and Joan McCammon - for all ages, especially adults; bring a picnic, lawn chairs; no pets)

- -- Open Mic hosted by Rick Medina at Buckaroo’s, Downtown Gardnerville (2pm-5pm; Bring your instrument and come on down. Drums, keyboard and piano will be supplied; every fourth Sunday)
- -- Auditions for PPI’s production of ‘Musical Comedy Murders of 1940’ in the Brewery Arts Center Black Box Theater (5pm; auditions will be a cold reading from the script, bring a theater resume if you have one; All actors selected are required to join Proscenium Players, Inc. as members; casting for 5 male and 5 female roles)
