Handbell Ensemble group, Tintabulations, presents a free concert at 7 p.m.

The Brewery Arts Center is bringing together some of Northern Nevada’s top comedians and storytellers to recount their worst and most excruciating dating stories on Saturday, February 18 at 8 pm (doors at 7:30) at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, located at 511 W. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
Making meaning through story and theater activities has been Karla Huntsman’s life work. Huntsman believes in the power of storytelling to infuse life, joy, connection with self, and connection with others no matter the age of the listener. She sings, plays guitar, autoharp, washboard and djembe drum as part of her storytelling performances.

Thousands attend Carson City Rendezvous; event continues through Sunday
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 06/11/2011 - 2:58pmWith enough cannon fire, frontier food and Wild West living history to pack a weekend's worth of activities, the 28th annual Carson City Rendezvous continues today, tonight and through Sunday at Mills Park in Carson City.
The Carson City Rendezvous is noted for portraying the lifestyle of early Nevada settlers, with a host of gun skirmishes, mountain man encampments and trapping demonstrations. This year the main demonstration of the Civil War-era gun battles has been moved from afternoon to dusk to better capture the backdrop of live-fire, rounds shot from muskets and cannons.
Carson City Rendezvous celebrates Wild West history, Civil War-era living

The 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's presidential inauguration is just one of many new events for the free three-day Civil War-era living history set at Mills Park, according to a news release issued by the Carson City Visitors Bureau.
The opening ceremony will be a special re-enactment of the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, the nation’s 16th president, at Mills Park on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Supervisors face grim task of cutting the city budget, including employee layoffs

Those layoffs, if approved, will occur in many departments, but the more noticeable will be in the Sheriff and Fire Departments.
