Highway 50 at Cheyenne Drive in the Stagecoach area was closed Saturday night due to a three vehicle injury crash, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Central Lyon County Fire District and Carson City fire and rescue has been called in for mutual aid. The crash was reported at 10:02 p.m.
Containment Up To 29 Percent on Washington Fire near Markleeville

The primary objective of suppression efforts remains the protection of the community of Markleeville.
Thunderstorms are forecasted that could bring stronger winds and lightning, which could hamper firefighter’s efforts.
Lyon County sheriff orders audit, personnel changes after third suicide at jail since 2013

Beginning Friday, the Battle Born 1864 “Brews, Bikes, and Bubbly” event, coupled with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office 12th Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge, will force temporary road closures.
Carson Street will be closed between Robinson Street and Musser Street from 9 a.m. on Friday, June 26, through midnight Saturday, June 27. In addition, the following streets will be closed during the same time period.

As of 4:30 Sunday afternoon the fire had burned 6,500 acres.

Weather Service: Band of thunderstorms moving south may produce flooding

There’s an Urban and Stream Flood Advisory until 10:45 p.m. for the following areas: Southern Washoe County, North Central Lyon County, Northwestern Churchill County and Storey County. This may change if the storm continues on its southerly path.
Heavy rain was being reported at 9:30 p.m. from Silver Springs to Fallon, according to the weather service.

Jury finds Silver Springs man guilty of shooting at Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputy

Florencio Brito was found guilty May 21 at the conclusion of the Third Judicial District Court trial in Yerington. Orrin J.H. Johnson, Senior Deputy District Attorney, and Damian Sinnott, Deputy District Attorney, prosecuted the case for the Lyon County District Attorney.

Lyon County murder suspect attempts to escape, two jail deputies injured
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 05/02/2015 - 12:42pmRyan Coddington, an inmate awaiting trial in the death of Alea Clark, battered two Lyon County deputies during a routine linen exchange late Thursday night in what appears to have been an attempted escape from the Lyon County Jail, according to the sheriff's office.
Coddington is currently housed in the Lyon County detention facility's maximum housing unit. Both deputies and Coddington were taken to the South Lyon Medical Center and were treated for minor injuries.
Dayton Spaghetti fundraiser tonight to pay for free medical clinics coming in October

Firefighters called to Dayton Industrial Park after pallets spark fire

Fire units were inside the building checking for any fire damage to the building itself. Firefighters remain on scene are doing mop up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Her vehicle was located in Sparks, and the man driving her car, Allen Elseth, has been arrested but refuses to give Britney's location, family members say.
