Fernley man gets up to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to fracturing infant's skull
The Lyon County District Attorney’s Office announced that Russell Edward Frietze, 24, of Fernley, Nev., was sentenced on March 9, 2015, to 76-192 months in Nevada State Prison for child abuse causing substantial bodily harm and 24-96 months in Nevada State Prison for child abuse.
Mr. Frietze pleaded guilty to the charges for abusing a young girl, causing a skull fracture and leg fracture.
Damian Sinnott prosecuted the case for the Lyon County District Attorney.
“We’re very satisfied with the outcome,” said Sinnott. “The young victim in this case was badly injured from the abuse inflicted by Mr. Frietze. Thanks to a diligent investigation by Lyon County sheriff’s deputies and DCFS, Mr. Frietze received a significant prison sentence for what he did. Young children need the protection of the justice system in these cases. The District Attorney appreciates the efforts of all involved in bringing this case to resolution with significant punishment for this offender. ”
