Third person arrested in connection with murder of Alea Clark

Patricia Baker, 40, of Silver Springs, has now also been charged with open murder, conspiracy to murder and destroying evidence.

UPDATE: Lyon County Sheriff Al McNeil said the body, presumed to be that of Alea Clark, was found Tuesday in the dry lake bed portion of Lake Lahontan State Park. He would not discuss the condition of the body but it is believed to be Clark. A forensic lab has been called. The family of Clark was contacted when the body was discovered, he said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Nevada Division of Investigation, arrested Ryan Coddington, 36, of Silver Springs and Toni Hardin, 31, of Dayton, on suspicion of open murder in connection with the disappearance of Alea Clark who was reported missing by family members on January 9.

Dayton couple arrested for drug trafficking
Submitted by admin on Thu, 01/29/2015 - 11:25amTimathie Dean-Simpson, 27, and his wife, Julia Johanna Wayne, 29, where arrested early Thursday morning after Carson City deputies found the couple in a hotel room with 8.2 grams of methamphetamine.
According to the arrest report, deputies approached Dean-Simpson when they saw him sitting in a casino on Highway 50 East with another male subject who appeared to be a juvenile, and who also seemed to be high on meth. The subject didn't have ID, and deputies learned that he was a juvenile with a felony burglary warrant out of Lyon County.

Pound of meth seized, three arrested in bust that focused on Dayton, Moundhouse
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 01/21/2015 - 6:55pmThree have been arrested after a monthlong investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in the Dayton and Moundhouse areas, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday night.
The investigation, which ended Jan. 21, led to the seizure of a pound of methamphetamine, eight firearms, and $4,500 in cash and involved two search warrants in the Dayton and Moundhouse area. Each of the three suspects are being held on $1 million bail.

Riverside, Illinois man Yeats E. Brannik dies in rollover accident on Interstate 80 near Fernley

Brannik, died Saturday in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Lyon County two miles east of Fernley, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Three other occupants, all Illinois residents, including a 17-year-old female were injured in the rollover crash in which two were ejected.
According to Trooper Dave Gibson approximately 5:10 am, NHP officers were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred on Interstate 80 at mile post 50 in Lyon County approximately 2 miles east of Fernley.

Lyon County investigators continue investigation into disappearance of Alea Clark
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 12:11pmThe Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation into the disappearance of Alea Clark who was reportedly last seen in the Dayton area on Jan. 6, 2015.
Pursuant to this investigation, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 14 on a Dayton home in the 200 block of Grosh Avenue. Her current residence is in California but she had been in the Dayton and Silver Springs area visiting family and friends when she disappeared.
Arrest made in stabbing overnight at Carson City bar

Maxwell Thomas Scott Simon, 32, faces a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon and is on $30,000 bail, after an altercation at the Whiskey Tavern on Highway 50 East in Carson City, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

He is being held on $30,000 bail on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon. The incident happened at the Whiskey Tavern in the 3400 block of Highway 50 East shortly after midnight.
The male victim was flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno where he was treated and released, a Carson City sheriff's detective said.

UPDATE: A suspect in the early morning stabbing at a bar on Highway 50 East was taken into custody at 12:51 a.m. He was located at a Moundhouse brothel. As of 2 a.m. the victim, who was flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno via Careflight, was said to have non-life threatening injuries, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Lt. Brian Humphrey.

A 27-year-old Carson City man, Bradley Paul Steelmon, was arrested Friday, 2:20 p.m. in the area of 20 College Parkway on a felony warrant, insurance fraud, issued June 9, 2014 out of Tahoe Township Court.

Man jailed on domestic battery charges after allegedly fighting with brothers
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 12/31/2014 - 9:33amA 28-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday, 8:32 p.m. in the 8500 block of Highway 50 East on two counts misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers met with the reporting witness who said his three sons had been in a fight earlier.

PUCN sets consumer session on AT&T service application for Lyon County
Submitted by editor on Mon, 12/29/2014 - 3:49pmDayton, Nev. – The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has scheduled a consumer session for Wednesday, Jan. 7, to hear public comment regarding AT&T’s application for relief as a designated provider of last resort in its Lyon County service territory.
A telecommunications provider of last resort (POLR) is required to provide basic network service and business line service to any eligible person requesting to receive telephone service in a particular service area.
Two Care Flight helicopters called after two-vehicle injury accident at Highway 50
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 12/29/2014 - 2:30pmUPDATE: Two people have been flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center after a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon. The westbound lane of Highway 50 has been reopened for thru-traffic. The eastbound lane, in which the accident occurred near the Pick-n-Pull, was being diverted around the accident scene.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is handling the accident investigation. The condition of those injured are unknown at this time.

Two Care Flight air ambulance helicopters were ordered and Carson City fire and ambulance responded to an injury accident in the eastbound lane of Highway 50 east located just west of the entrance to Pick-n-Pull, an area where there have been several injury accidents in the past.

Approx: 4:20 p.m. Monday evening at Tamarack and E. 2nd St in Silver Springs was a house fire. The structure was engulfed by the time Lyon County Fire made to the scene. We hear a couple explosions also. Video footage below taken by John McGrath of Candid Sky Productions.
Pedestrian taken by Care Flight after being struck by pipe in vehicle along Dayton Valley Road
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 12/15/2014 - 4:26pmA woman was flown to Renown Medical Center Monday afternoon following an accident involving a landscaping vehicle and a pedestrian, a Lyon County sheriff’s sergeant said.
The vehicle was traveling westbound on Dayton Valley Road and apparently had a pipe that was hanging from the side, said Sgt. Dan Lynch. The female pedestrian was walking eastbound. The pipe struck the woman as it drove by, hitting her in the head. The landscaping vehicle didn't stop, said Lynch.
Nevada Lands bill passage to bring jobs, economic development to Lyon County, Yerington
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 12/12/2014 - 2:54pmThe City of Yerington and Lyon County are pleased to announce that Friday, the U.S. Senate passed the Congressional legislation to transfer 10,400 acres of land from the federal government to the City of Yerington.
The same bill passed the House of Representatives on Dec. 2014. Section 3009, the “Land Conveyance to Yerington, Nevada” was included in the National Defense Authorization Act and will now go to President Obama for signing before year-end.

What we know is two Care Flight helicopters landed, according to NHP Trooper Dave Gibson. One person was taken by ground ambulance, according to Central Lyon County Fire District. Their conditions are not known at this time.
