Beginning Monday and continuing through August 14, the Carson City Sheriff's Office and law enforcement statewide as part of Joining Forces will issue citations this week to pedestrians and motorists who are breaking traffic safety laws.

The potential for heavy rain from developing thunderstorms in western Nevada including Carson City has prompted the National Weather Service in Reno to issue a flash flood watch through Sunday night.

UPDATE 1:18PM: The fire at Western Nevada Supply was located on the loading dock and did not extend to the building, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Raw.
