Head to bed early tonight, the Great Reno Balloon races are best enjoyed by early risers. Not to be outdone, Virginia City has discovered that camels and emus are even more hilarious to race. You’ve got plenty to look forward to this weekend, but don’t discount today. Jimmy Mallett will sing you back to yesteryear at Living the Good Life. You’ll get your motor running at Battle Born Harley Davidson’s weekly bike night.

- -- Muscle Powered Easy Hike: Empire Ranch trail - Meet at Carson River put in parking lot on Morgan Mill Road. (8am-9:30am; friendly dogs welcome; Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the hike meeting site. All events require closed-toed shoes and water. Hats, sunscreen and walking sticks, and on longer hikes, snacks are recommended; hikes are 2-4 miles in length, often with some elevation gain, not more than 500’, and can be on a paved path, smooth wide trail, or single track)
