— Thursday hike to Clear Creek Trail, hosted by Muscle Powered, 8 a.m. This week's hike has changed to the new Clear Creek Trail. Since Nevada State Parks is closing some of the trails for forest management, the original trail advertised, Tahoe Rim Trail Spooner Summit-North will closed. The meeting place has not changed. We will still meet at Highway 50 Park and Ride where we will carpool up to Spooner Summit to park in the south parking lot for the Tahoe Rim Trail. The Clear Creek Trail begins just east of the bathroom and is accessed via the Forest Service Road just east of the bathroom. Water and study boots or athletic shoes required. Hat and sunscreen recommended.
— Network with host Jenny Treece at Coffee Connections held Thursdays at Rustically Divine, 9 a.m. Join Coffee Connections host Jenny Treece, Advertising/Marketing Director, Carson Now, on Thursday mornings, from 9-10 am, at Rustically Divine, 410 N. Carson St. in Carson City. Come mingle with other business professionals and people in the community to expand your network and your way of thinking. — Cardio and Strength Connection class offered at Carson Tahoe, 10 a.m. If you've had problems with your heart, or have diabetes, a healthy lifestyle is the best way to get you feeling like you should. We've created Cardio & Strength Connection to help you develop a healthy exercise program in a safe and comfortable environment. Monthly cost is $10. Thursday classes are held at Carson Tahoe 1470 Medical Pkwy, Suite 250) from 10 to 11 a.m.
— Carson Tahoe discussion to highlight new trends in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, 6 p.m. Carson Tahoe Care Center, a new Prestige Care center opening soon in Carson City, invites the community to attend a free discussion on Alzheimer’s and dementia care 6 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 20 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. The discussion will be led by internationally recognized memory care expert David Troxel, MPH, who will share the latest research and trends that are shaping the way we think about Alzheimer’s and dementia care today.Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center is located at 1600 Medical Pkwy in Carson City.
— New Carson City group offers support, education to parents with children who have addictions, 6:30 p.m. A new support group is starting in Carson City for family members who have loved ones with addictions. The group will meet Thursday nights, 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Fire Station 51 meeting room, 777 S Stewart St.
— America’s involvement in WWI is the subject of a Carson City museum lecture, 6:30 p.m. Jennifer Keene, chair of the History Department at Chapman University in Southern California, is a leading expert on “The Great War” and she will be sharing her knowledge in Carson City as the as guest speaker at the September Frances Humphrey Lecture at the Nevada State Museum. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the lecture starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults; free for museum members and children 17 and younger.

— Carson City Art Gallery & Pottery Mid-Month Artist Reception: Roger Freeman, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 110 S. Curry St. Carson City Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for September is Roger Freeman, a multi medium artist living and working in the Carson City area. He is currently represented by Carson City Art Gallery where he has several works displayed for sale. Light refreshments will be served. — Student Art Exhibition: The Wind Calls, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) announces it’s exhibition, The Wind Calls featuring nine University of Nevada, Reno, students’ work. The free exhibition is available to the public through October 9, 2018, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm. It is held at the BRIC, 108 E Proctor St., Carson City.
— The Wind Calls includes work by Mahedi Anjuman, Nicki Bracco, Mark Combs, Teal Francis, Hannah Huntley, Gwaylon Leaf, Frances Melhop, Ally Messer, and Carla Miller. The artists used a wide variety of art media including mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and photography to make their art and comments on contemporary life and society.
— The Capital City Arts Initiative, also known as CCAI, presents its exhibition, "Jenny Raven: The Creative Growth Years 1979 - 1984" with artwork by artist Jenny Raven in the city’s Community Center Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition is available to the public through October 18, 2018. The Sierra Room is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative presents “Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth" at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery in Carson City. The exhibition, with art by 17 artists, will be in the gallery Monday through Friday until Sept. 27, 2018. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Live Music at Glen Eagle Restaurant, 3700 N. Carson St., Carson City. Starting at 6:30, Enjoy food featuring lunch and dinner specials, full-service bar, beautiful vistas and friendly service.
— Live music tonight at Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge featuring host Ev Musselman. 7 to 10:30 p.m. 1480 N Carson St., Carson City.
