The Brewery Arts Center is the only Nevada venue on their coast to coast tour, and this Country, Southern Rock, Trop Rock, Bluegrass blend of music is sure to be a great show!

South Tahoe narcotics deputy arrested in Douglas County on felony drug charges

A El Dorado County sheriff's narcotics deputy assigned to South Lake Tahoe has been jailed on felony drug charges after Douglas County authorities were called to his home Tuesday regarding a domestic dispute.

Arrested was Mark Zlendick, 47, a deputy with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the South Lake Narcotics Enforcement Team, also known as SLEDNET, said Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Brooks.

Carson City sheriff’s weekend arrest log: Several booked for DUI charges

A Carson City man in custody after an incident Thursday, faces a felony charge of being in possession of a credit card without consent. Andre Anthony Franklin, 22, was found to be in possession of a master card debit card with a woman’s name on it.

The woman, who is also an inmate at Carson City Jail, said only one person was supposed to have the card and when she learned it was lost, the card was canceled and she was given a new one.

Western Nevada College to Graduate More than 500 at ceremony Monday in Carson City

Western Nevada College has announced that it will graduate 515 students for the 2014-15 academic year. The 2015 commencement ceremony will take place on Monday, May 18, 11 a.m. at the Marv Teixieira Pavilion in Mills Park, in Carson City.

The class of 2015 will receive 568 degrees and certificates.

    While statewide gaming revenue slips, Carson City soars 7.3 percent in March

    Carson City area gaming revenues grew 7.3 percent in March, according to figures released Wednesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

    Casinos in Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville and all other areas of Douglas County with the exception of South Lake Tahoe, took in a gaming “win” of $8,637,614 for the month, as compared to $8,049,618 in March 2014. Statewide, Nevada gaming revenue in March fell 3.15 compared to March 2014.

    Free fitness classes for women offered in Carson City and Minden

    The women’s fitness program, Kaia FIT, is opening its doors to the community for a free week of classes.
    “Spring is a good time to start getting healthy for summer,” said owner Nikki Warren. “It’s spring cleaning for your body.”

    Beginning Monday, women in Carson City and Minden/Gardnerville can drop in on any class that may interest them. Classes include cross training, TRX, running, cardio dance and a yoga and Pilates mix.

    Carson City arrest log: Man jailed after allegedly exposing himself to teen at Mills Park

    A 30-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in the area of Mills Park after allegedly exposing himself to a 16-year-old girl, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Kyle William Chase, a Red Oak, Iowa resident, was booked into Carson City Jail on $5,000 bail.

    According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the park at 3:32 p.m. and met with the 16-year-old victim who stated her mother drove her to the park to check on a younger sister near the skate area. She said she observed the suspect, William, on his back, on the ground and appeared to be sunning himself and wearing shorts.
