Submitted by editor on Tue, 09/29/2015 - 12:44pmA 28-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Tuesday, 1:32 a.m. in the area of Carson and Proctor streets on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear for a traffic violation, issued July 10, 2013 out of Nye County Justice Court, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

The competition was held just a few weeks ago at Purina Farms, near St. Louis, MO. The second place team is from Gardnerville and the Grand Champion is from Elko! Only the top dogs out of 15,000 registered were eligible to compete. Ginger also holds a Flyball Master title. I rescued her 4 years ago from the Carson City shelter, where she had been returned twice.

Douglas authorities seek person of interest in stolen credit card case

On August 8, 2015, the victim was advised by her credit card company that some unusual activity was seen on her account. After checking into the charges the victim realized they were missing this credit card.

Douglas investigators: Elderly Gardnerville couple die in apparent suicide pact
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 09/15/2015 - 10:46amAn 86-year-old Gardnerville man who held Douglas County deputies in a Sept. 1 standoff in which the man's wife was deceased inside the home, died Friday from apparent organ failure after ingesting medications, a Douglas County sheriff's sergeant said Tuesday. Investigators say the couple made a suicide pact.
William Lewis, 86, died at Renown Medical Center in Reno. His wife, Phyllis Lewis, 82, was found dead inside the couple's Edlesborough Circle home, said Sgt. Pat Brooks.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office young Explorers will host a fundraising car wash; The Marine Corp League can be found at the north Carson Walmart; half of the donations received will go to Deputy Howell’s family fund. And don’t miss out on the drought-friendly water balloon ice bucket challenge raising funds for ALS at Butler Meats on Sunday.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 08/26/2015 - 2:32pmThis weekend the Marine Corps League of Carson City will hold its annual outreach event with half of the donations to go to a fund establish for the family of fallen Carson City Sheriff’s Office Deputy and former U.S. Marine Carl Howell.
This weekend the Marine Corps League of Carson City Silver State Detachment 630 will hold an annual outreach event at the Walmart store on Retail Drive on Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This outreach is for charity donations to the good of our community which includes Carson City, Dayton, Virginia City, Minden and Gardnerville.
