So long, summer. Cozy sweaters, soft scarves, scarecrows, crunchy leaves underfoot, and pumpkin spice will soon take over. Sunday means football for the next few months, but for those looking for something else to do, read on.

Luke Bowler is collecting bicycles and bike parts for his Eagle Scout Project. Free up some space in your garage and earn a charitable tax-deduction while helping him accomplish something good.

Snowshoe Thompson is a local legend. He took the postal service’s credo ‘Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds’ to new heights as he carried mail over the Sierras. Author Frank Tortorich will share his insight on the man at Dangberg Home Ranch.
