The Carson City Fair is upon us this weekend, bringing fun new activities that are certain to become traditions for Carsonites young and young-at-heart!

Check below for the full list of scheduled events Friday through Sunday.

Please be aware that smoking is allowed only in designated areas throughout the entire weekend.

Please, for your safety and the safety of the exhibitors and their animals, leave your dog at home during the duration of the fair. Sonoma Park located at 1003 Sonoma Street is an alternative dog friendly park. If you must bring your dog they are required to remain on a leash for the entirety of your visit.

Dogs are banned at the livestock show tent and in the area east of the grassy area towards the barn.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash that happened Tuesday on the USA Parkway Extension in Lyon County and is asking for any witnesses to come forward if they have information.

The Carson City District Attorney's Office will host a friendly game of dodge ball it has dubbed "Dodge for the Cause II." This event will promote domestic violence awareness along with other community organizations.

A 56-year-old Carson City woman who was reported missing earlier this month has been found safe in California, a sheriff's detective said Thursday.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called late Wednesday night to the 3500 block of Highway 50 East near the Phillips Motel and Mobile Home Park for a travel trailer on fire.

CARSON CITY, Nev. - It took 65 years to get to this day and for most of those days, Glenn Lucky has been feeling pretty lucky. His positive attitude and determination have been inspiring others around him.

UPDATE 446PM: Forward progress on the three fires has stopped and no other fire department engines will be needed. There's a total of 1/2-acre that has burned with firefighters now mopping up the hotspots, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon.

Carson City Fire Department was called Wednesday afternoon to the area of Highway 50 East between Deer Run and Drako Way for a brush fire.

Please come down to Telegraph Square, behind Battle Born restaurant, this Saturday, Sept. 30 to help out a local friend of Carson City who is battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Mark Linquist graduated from Carson High School in 1987 and still lives in the area.

UPDATE 2:19PM: The fire has been contained. Engines are being released, however the water tenders will stay in place for now, according to a Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief on scene. The equipment that caught fire is cooling down with water being used to douse the hot spots.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday afternoon to the 8000 block of Highway 50 East for a structure fire at an asphalt plant.

The Sierra Inline Hockey League in Carson City was one of six organizations to receive a grant through the Save Mart Companies CARES Foundation, the company announced Wednesday.

An 18-year-old cashier at a sporting goods store was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor embezzlement after allegedly stealing $457.45 in cash and merchandise, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Today, the Nevada State Museum invites everyone to help Lucky celebrate his 65th birthday, complete with cake and a huge group photo.

The man who has led anti-South Lake Tahoe Police, El Dorado County Sheriff, District Attorney and Judge campaigns was found guilty on Monday in Sacramento Superior Court on eight felony charges.
