The B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge in Carson City recognizes annually people who have excelled in volunteering their time to help make their respective communities a better place for all. This year the Carson City Elks Lodge has proudly recognized Carol Park as citizen of the year.

Due to COVID-19, the Carson City Fair has announced they will be cancelling this year’s event.

The Carson City Fair has been steadily growing and coming into its own the last few years, and has now decided to form an independent non-profit organization dedicated to continuing their work.

The 2019 Carson City Fair finished its third year on the last Sunday in July with a record number of participants, exhibits and spectators. The Fair’s claim to fame is a focus on local youth livestock shows and traditional exhibits. This year, most people didn’t miss the carnival, due to the free games provided on the grassy area.

Heading into the first day of the work week, if you're an early, early riser or are settling in for the night, you'll want to step outside at around 3 a.m. for the peak of the Perseid shower, which will be in the eastern sky. If you missed them, there will be a viewing party hosted by Carson City Parks and Rec at the Jack C. Davis Observatory at WNC beginning at midnight Tuesday morning, August 13. Otherwise, it's onward and upward into the day with a Cooperative Extension presentation, Shred Kids mountain bike camp, Red Cross sitter certification class, West Coast swing dancing and more.

This year, the Carson City Fair Coloring Contest sponsored by Carson Kids Dental was a huge hit throughout the weekend, and over 50 children in three age categories participated with over 300 votes.

The contest this year featured a barnyard scene and was available for print out before the fair as well as during the fair at a booth set up in the Exhibit Hall.

Be sure to stop by and check out the farm animals, tractors and demonstrations. Also today is a tour of the Wungnema House, train rides, an author event in Silver City, a veterans support gathering for women at Mills Park and more.

The weather’s nice, the animals are cute, and the food is good, so come down to Fuji Park today and tomorrow for the Carson City Fair.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days, including the Carson City Fair, Karson Kruzers Run What Cha Brung car show, a fundraiser bike ride, cooking classes, tours at the Nevada State Museum, train rides on Saturday and much more!

The Carson City Fair is upon us this weekend, bringing fun new activities that are certain to become traditions for Carsonites young and young-at-heart!

The Carson City Fair is back this weekend at Fuji Park following some big changes made by the board.

Say hello to the new-but-traditional fair events such as food eating contests for adults and youth, dog shows, 4-H animal shows and auctions, demolition derbies, and a contest called the American Ninja Farmer which is exactly what it sounds like and is sure to be the talk of the fair.

As we head into the final stretch of the week, events around the Carson City region are lined up for the next three days, including museum activities, outdoor concerts, a car cruise Friday at Carson Mall, athletic events, a Carson High School class of 1979 reunion, the Taste of Downtown on Saturday and much more.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors and Redevelopment Authority will be holding their next meeting on July 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Planning for the 2019 Carson City Fair is coming together. The youth livestock show and auction are promising to have a record turn out. We are proud to present many new competitions and events this year, such as the American Ninja Farmer, food eating compositions and the first inaugural Demolition Derby.

Two exciting fairs return to Carson City, kicking off the warm days and long summer nights.

The Nevada State Fair returns to Mill Park in Carson City from June 6-9 featuring four days of entertainment, exciting carnival rides, food, music and much more.

Carson City 4-H programs, brought to you through the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, have new and on-going project clubs open to area youth ages 5–18.

Lindsay Chichester, extension educator with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) office in Carson City, will be leaving her position in the Nevada state capital for the extension educator post at the UNCE Douglas County office in Gardnerville.

A set of car keys and pair of glasses were found at the Carson City Fair which was held at Fuji Park in July 2018. Both are unclaimed and are at the Cooperative Extension office in Carson City. The second annual Carson City Fair brought local youth in agriculture, live music, home craft exhibitors, antique tractors and much more than last year. The fair provides a venue for local youth enrolled in 4-H, FFA and Grange to showcase their agricultural projects.

During the 2018 Carson City Fair, Carson Now held a coloring contest which produced 53 excellent entries, voted on by 433 voters. The entries were on display through the weekend in the exhibition hall of Fuji Park.

Yeah, it’s hot out there, but it’s the area happenings that are sizzling. The Carson City Fair at Fuji Park offers a plethora of entertainment for all ages including tractor pulls, a carnival, and farm animals. Under the shade of the Mills Park cottonwoods, you’ll have all day to peruse the varied vehicles in the annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The sun will come out tomorrow, but it’s the stars that are coming out tonight for the free Levitt Amp Concert at the Brewery Arts Center.

Friday morning started the Carson City fair's weekend, with events such as the popular dog show, the beginning of the silent auction, and the Youth Livestock competitions.

Ready for a good time? The Carson City Fair runs all day and culminates with a special concert in the arena starring Journey Unlimited. Car lovers are in for a treat: you can head down to the Carson Mall for their monthly cruise night, or roll into the Max Casino to get registered for the 33rd annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The Trippin King Snakes take the stage in McFadden Plaza for a free all-ages show. Break a leg to the kids of Youth Theater Carson City; they open their production of ‘Bye, Bye, Birdie’ at the Community Center this evening.

Despite the high temperatures Thursday afternoon in Carson City, fair lovers flocked to Fuji Park to enjoy the pre-weekend Fair festivities.
