The Fair’s claim to fame is a focus on local youth livestock shows and traditional exhibits. This year, most people didn’t miss the carnival, due to the free games provided on the grassy area.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 08/11/2019 - 5:32pmHeading into the first day of the work week, if you're an early, early riser or are settling in for the night, you'll want to step outside at around 3 a.m. for the peak of the Perseid shower, which will be in the eastern sky. If you missed them, there will be a viewing party hosted by Carson City Parks and Rec at the Jack C. Davis Observatory at WNC beginning at midnight Tuesday morning, August 13. Otherwise, it's onward and upward into the day with a Cooperative Extension presentation, Shred Kids mountain bike camp, Red Cross sitter certification class, West Coast swing dancing and more.
Carson City Fair 2019 Coloring Contest Winners Announced
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Tue, 07/30/2019 - 9:15amThis year, the Carson City Fair Coloring Contest sponsored by Carson Kids Dental was a huge hit throughout the weekend, and over 50 children in three age categories participated with over 300 votes.
The contest this year featured a barnyard scene and was available for print out before the fair as well as during the fair at a booth set up in the Exhibit Hall.

Say hello to the new-but-traditional fair events such as food eating contests for adults and youth, dog shows, 4-H animal shows and auctions, demolition derbies, and a contest called the American Ninja Farmer which is exactly what it sounds like and is sure to be the talk of the fair.

The Carson City Fair at Fuji Park offers a plethora of entertainment for all ages including tractor pulls, a carnival, and farm animals. Under the shade of the Mills Park cottonwoods, you’ll have all day to peruse the varied vehicles in the annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The sun will come out tomorrow, but it’s the stars that are coming out tonight for the free Levitt Amp Concert at the Brewery Arts Center.

Car lovers are in for a treat: you can head down to the Carson Mall for their monthly cruise night, or roll into the Max Casino to get registered for the 33rd annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The Trippin King Snakes take the stage in McFadden Plaza for a free all-ages show. Break a leg to the kids of Youth Theater Carson City; they open their production of ‘Bye, Bye, Birdie’ at the Community Center this evening.
