The 2024 Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization is holding its 75th anniversary competition this upcoming June. Registration is now open for women ages 13-28. There are two age divisions: Teen (13-18) and Miss (19-28).

Lake Street Dive Performs at Montbleu Casino on August 14

Lake Street Dive tours the US this summer in support of its critically acclaimed 2018 album, Free Yourself Up. When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the Christmas Season, Lucy suggests that he become the director of the school Christmas pageant.

Hot rods to line up for Carson City's Rockabilly Riot at Mills Park

More than 600 cars are expected to roll into Carson City for the annual Rockabilly Riot on June 21-23 in Mills Park.
The show will feature hot rods — most built from the ground up — from 1976 and older.

Mr. Carson High event still on for tonight at Carson City Community Center

The cancellation of classes and activities at Carson High School Friday does not include the long-anticipated and carefully planned annual Mr. Carson High pageant scheduled for March 2 at 6:30 p.m. inside the Carson City Community Center, Carson City School District Public Information Officer Dan Davis said.

The snow finally fell, and continues to fall. The Carson City and Douglas County School Districts have closed all schools due to the weather; Lyon County Schools are on a two hour delay.
