The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and includes dinner, wine and music; silent and live auctions; and blackjack tables for raffle drawings.

In honor of Betty White, known for her animal activism and advocacy, Catmandu, a no-kill, cage-free cat rescue and sanctuary in Carson City is holding a Giving Grid fundraising drive in her name.

The Silver & Sage Fair will be taking place at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, July 23-25. The event will host youth livestock producers, a demolition derby, vendors, and live music. The livestock auction will take place Saturday afternoon.

INCLINE VILLAGE — Maddie’s Pet Project of Nevada is proud to announce Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days happening Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday Sept. 27, 2020. Thanks to funding provided by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, all adoption fees are being waived for dogs and cats at participating animal welfare organizations across Nevada during this event.

The Pahrump Poolfish is an endangered species that just cannot seem to get a break. It has lived on the edge of extinction since the early 1970’s when groundwater pumping caused Manse Spring, the only warm water spring in which they were found, to dry up and remaining poolfish were relocated to various locations in Nevada for safe keeping.

Since Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced during the recent special session that all active registered voters would be mailed ballots for the upcoming 2020 General Election, many residents have been concerned about voter fraud, or their vote not being counted.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting that there have been two bats that have tested positive for rabies in Douglas County within the last two weeks. There was both animal and human exposure to these bats.
