A tsunami of fun for everyone hits downtown this Saturday
Downtown is the place to be Saturday with over twelve hours jam packed full of fun. The Third and Curry Farmers Market begins at 8:30 a.m. From there head north on Curry to the Spring Vintage Faire at Due Sorella. Stick around for the Downtown Business Association Wine Walk at 1 p.m. The Rotary Club brings you the Capital City Brewfest at 3 p.m. Family friendly fun hits the outdoor stage at the Brewery Arts Center: Mumbo Gumbo will have you dancing in the street.
The Third and Curry Farmers Market runs 8:30am until 1 p.m. Fruits and berries, vegetables, plants, flowers, local foods and more will line the aisles. Empty Bowls is getting a jump on bowl painting for their annual event in December; stop by their booth and put your artistic stamp on something. Come hungry, you’ll find plenty to snack on as you enjoy the summer’s bounty.
Due Sorella’s Annual Spring Vintage Fair begins at 9 a.m. and can be found in the parking lot at Musser and Nevada Streets until 4 p.m. Hunt for treasures outside and enjoy a store-wide sale, as well.
The Downtown Business Association’s monthly wine walk finally gets to enjoy some sunny weather. The wine walk runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and you can sign up at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy's Bar, Touched by Angels, Comma Coffee, or inside the Artisan Shop of the Brewery Arts Center. Don't forget to turn in your raffle ticket and vote for your favorite stop. The raffle will be at Alatte in the Carson Nugget at 5 p.m.
For $15 participants will receive a commemorative wine glass to use at over 30 downtown businesses. With paid admission you will receive a hand stamp, glass, map of participating stops, and a chance to win raffle prizes. Bring a previous month’s wine glass for a discount.
Some special additions to this month’s wine walk include a book signing with Len Semas and music by Catfish Carl at Mystique; live music at Comma Coffee, the Carson Visitor Center, and the Nevada Artist’s Association Gallery; a baby sale at Little Monsters’s Resale Shop; and a special Photography Show at the Nevada Day Trading Post. Stick around and watch an artist at work: a new mural on S. Curry St., across from the Purple Avocado, will make downtown a little brighter.
The Capital City Brewfest hits Curry Street between Fourth and Musser at 3 p.m., 2 p.m. if you have a V.I.P. ticket. Over 30 breweries are participating with plenty of sudsy samples to go around. Catch the Trippin King Snakes on stage and fill your belly with food truck fare or something from our great downtown restaurants. Cheer on your favorite server during the Waiter’s Race: a few laps with a tray full of spillables is always good fun.
