Harmony in the Park: A Celebration of Barbershop Music

High Desert Harmony Chorus is pleased to present Harmony in the Park: A Celebration of Barbershop Music. All Carson City singers and music lovers are welcome to join us on Saturday evening, July 16th in Downtown Reno's Wingfield Park to celebrate this uniquely American music style!

We'll begin at 6:30pm with a workshop on barbershop music (all ages encouraged!). Participants will experience the joys of singing in four-part harmony and will join the performers on stage to sing the “tag” they learn.

The historic Comstock town of Silver City, Nev. will host another free, family-friendly public event on Saturday August 3. Kantu Inka will perform on the town’s outdoor stage, the Silver Pavilion, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Kantu Inka is a duo including Carlos Ocampo and Julie Lozada Ocampo. They bring Peruvian culture alive with dance and traditional instruments such as zampoñas, quenas, charangos, bombos, chacchas, and cajón.

CARSON CITY — In order to deliver on the objective of giving mountain bikers a true backcountry experience on world-class singletrack that challenges riders as much as it inspires and rewards, and allowing for extra snowmelt time in a potentially record-setting Sierra Nevada winter, Epic Rides announced a date change of the Carson City Off-Road from June 14-16 to June 28-30.

Carson Nugget Casino Hosts Live Entertainment in Outdoor Venue Beginning Saturday

The Carson Nugget in Carson City is kicking off a series of free outdoor concerts at the historic Laxalt Plaza adjacent to the Carson Nugget Casino beginning Saturday, Sept. 5, Labor Day Weekend. The first band in the series will be Mo’z Motley Blues Band who entertained during Taste of Downtown. They have a strong local following due to their versatility and infectious stage performance.

Hard Rock Lake Tahoe to add outdoor concerts this summer

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in South Lake Tahoe announced this week they will be hosting six to eight outdoor concerts this summer. The rear parking lot at the Stateline property will be converted into an outdoor amphitheater that will seat up to 7,500 people.

In a venture with PR Entertainment, Inc., owned by former Caesars Entertainment Director Paul Reder, Hard Rock is looking to attract top-name national artists to the Lake Tahoe area. They plan on starting the concerts in June and concluding on Labor Day weekend.
