"Mikey" has worked at the Brewery Arts Center since 2015, initially as a volunteer, and has played a key role in helping the BAC grow into the community arts hub that it is today. A proud Marine Corps veteran, he has been involved in broadcast media and the arts for more than 25 years.

The competitive process garners dozens of applications from district educators each semester. Valedictorian of the 2018 graduating class at Argent Preparatory Academy, Rasmussen studied art at Western Nevada College through their early college entry program and completed her Associate of Arts degree at 18.

The winning artists are Bill Louis and Bryce Chisholm, both from the Reno/Sparks area.

A Silver City resident for the past 20 years, he was best known for painting the mural at Dayton Elementary School, teaching art through local artist in residence programs, coaching track in area high schools, as well as a revered portfolio of fine art.

The Nevada Art Council commissioned the mural for the club, which was finished in a week along with a smaller mural on the windows of the teen center.

The pool was re-opened without much fanfare Tuesday with a grand reopening and free community swim set for Saturday to celebrate the completion, including a dive in family-friendly movie.

CCAI will host an opening reception on Friday, Oct. 5, 5-7 p.m. The exhibition will be in the gallery from October 5, 2018 to Jan. 31, 2019.
The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free and the public is cordially invited. The gallery is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Expansion at Carson City school prompts student art removal, plans to reunite artist and work

The alumni pieces date back as early as 1994, are neatly framed and range from kindergartners to fifth graders.

A carnival is a great way to help Mom celebrate her special day.
