Prescription drug roundups Saturday in Carson City, Douglas County
Carson City health advocates urge residents to help protect the community and its water supply this Saturday by properly disposing of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications and syringes.
Partnership Carson City will set up Drug Roundup stations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in front of both Save Mart Supermarkets, 3620 N. Carson and 4348 S. Carson streets; Smith’s Food & Drug Store, 559 E. William St.; and FoodMaxx, 3325 Highway 50 East.
Bring syringes in a hard plastic or tin container.
Drugs and needles can always be dropped off for disposal as well at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, 911 E. Musser St.

Elsewhere, Douglas County will host its drug roundup Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
It is the goal of Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Partnership of Community Resources and East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, who have partnered with the DEA to collect every unused, unwanted and expired prescription and over the counter medication at the five drop locations.
The locations will be operating from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wal-Mart north, 3770 Hwy 395 in Carson City, Wal-Greens 1342 Hwy 395, Gardnerville, DCSO Ranchos substation 1281 Kimmerling, Gardnerville, East Fork Fire and Paramedic station No. 4, 1476 Albite Road, Topaz Ranch Estates , and Safeway grocery store at 212 Elks Point Road, Zephyr Cove.
Residents may also drop off your pet medications and liquid form of medications.
There is a permanent drop off location in the lobby of the Judicial Law Enforcement building located at 1038 Buckeye Rd, Minden which is open 8-5 pm Monday through Friday.
