These annual events help protect the community with proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications, syringes and more. The effort is part of the federal drug round-up initiative.

The conveniently located Round Up helps people bring unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.
Collecting expired and unused medications can prevent damage to the water supply that would otherwise result from flushing them down toilets and drains.

They are working hard to stop illegal activity (such as money laundering by various criminals involved in tax evasion, terrorist financing, drug dealing, etc.), which usually involves a lot of cash.
But wait a minute, aren’t there legitimate large cash deposits from businesses such as Retail Stores, ATM Vendors, Check Cashing Firms, Bars, Banks, Casinos, etc.? Of course, and those businesses have learned a simple required step to avoid any surprise visits from the IRS or DEA agents.

Man arrested in Bakersfield as part of large methamphetamine ring now in Carson City jail
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 08/28/2016 - 1:58pmA 34-year-old man who was arrested earlier this month in Bakersfield along with five others in Carson City for alleged involvement in a large methamphetamine trafficking ring was extradited to Carson City on Friday where he is being held on $250,000 bail, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Tri-Net: Drug task force breaks up huge Carson City meth supplier ring

Arrest warrants were executed in Carson City and the Bakersfield, California area. During the investigation, a decade long Mexican drug trafficking organization was dismantled in Carson City, according to Sgt. Dan Johnson, Nevada Department of Public Safety Investigation Division of the Tri-Net Narcotic Task Force.

Carson City man among 9 in Reno area implicated in DEA prescription drug case

That's according to U.S. Attorney Daniel G. Bogden for the District of Nevada, DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Daniel Neill, and Nevada FBI Special Agent in Charge Laura A. Bucheit.

Suspects in meth, heroin and pill operation arrested in early morning Carson City raid

Dennis Myers was arrested Tuesday on a Douglas County warrant. He faces charges of drug trafficking of a controlled substance and sales of a controlled substance. Arrested at a home on Northgate and Hampton streets early Wednesday morning was Jose Colunga on two unrelated warrants.

Two suspects have been arrested following a search warrant early Wednesday morning at a north Carson City home that drug enforcement authorities say was part of a network of methamphetamine, heroin and prescription pill sales in the area that involved gang members from Southern California.

They’re something we all have but rarely think about, prescription drugs. Partnership Carson City hosted the roundup eliminating the prescription pills and liquids and collected the 30 pounds of syringes to be destroyed.
Pound of meth seized, three arrested in bust that focused on Dayton, Moundhouse
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 01/21/2015 - 7:55pmThree have been arrested after a monthlong investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in the Dayton and Moundhouse areas, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday night.
The investigation, which ended Jan. 21, led to the seizure of a pound of methamphetamine, eight firearms, and $4,500 in cash and involved two search warrants in the Dayton and Moundhouse area. Each of the three suspects are being held on $1 million bail.
Partnership Carson City teams up with sheriff's office, Rotarians for prescription drug roundup

More than 100 pounds of medications and syringes were collected for disposal by the DEA.
Six Rotarians helped Partnership Carson City facilitate the four round up locations at the three SaveMart stores and Smith's Foods and Drug Store. Unused medications may be taken between the semi annual RX Round Ups to the Carson City Sheriff's Office Drug Drop Box located in the lobby at 911 East Musser Street.
