V&T train rides, pumpkin patch, Scandinavian festival, hikes, fundraisers and more: Carson City region set for eventful weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

Pumpkins + Bingo = PINGO!

Pumpkins plus Bingo = PINGO! Join us Saturday, Oct. 12 for two lively, all ages Bingo sessions to win pumpkins and more. The event is at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

The even features two sessions: 1 to 3 p.m. Doors open at noon, and the second session is 4 to 6 p.m., Doors open 3 p.m.

Win all sizes of pumpkins including JUMBO pumpkins. Grand Prize for black out PINGO $100 Wal-Mart gift cards.

This is an all ages event, fun for all families and open to the public.

Multiple agencies respond to Fuji Park, tase larceny suspect

Multiple law enforcement agencies from Carson City and Douglas County were on scene Friday afternoon near the equestrian area of Fuji Park in South Carson City, according to Carson City Dispatch, where a larceny suspect who fled the Wal-Mart on Topsy Lane has been tasered.

A taser was used to detain the suspect, dispatch reports, and Carson City firefighter-paramedics were called to the scene to check on the suspect.

BSA Troop 33 is excited to announce it will be hosting its 2nd Annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser on August 15, 2015 at Carson City’s Fuji Park.

The Show will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; award ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Registration is $40 per entry. There is still time for pre-registration or you can register on the day of the event. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, one lunch meal ticket, and a dash plaque.

Doug 'Mac the Naw' Busey's Lake Tahoe and Sierra fishing report: Knowing the limit

Hello fellow anglers, there are only two things that make me extremely angry, and I experienced both of them this last week. While fishing last week, I met an angler with a limit of nice rainbow trout.

Later one that same morning I saw him fishing again in the same spot catching more fish. He had taken his first catch home and returned the same day to catch more fish.
