Carson Street Green Dining District participates in 'Plastic free July' with reusable takeout containers available

CARSON CITY — GreenUP!, an environmental education non-profit that helps local businesses implement sustainable best practices, announced a Green Dining District event emphasizing Plastic Free July. Plastic Free July is a global movement that gathers millions of people to help reduce the use of harmful single-use plastics in everyday life.

Atlas is one of the best dogs at the Carson Shelter. At almost 4, he is a gentle treat taker who is food motivated and loves people. He’s hiked many trails in the Northern Nevada wilderness and is so fearless!

Holiday with a Hero golf tournament raises $17,000 to support Carson City area scholarships

The second annual Holiday with a Hero Golf Tournament was a success, raising approximately $17,000 to support scholarships for local students. The event, held on Saturday, June 18, at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Carson City, saw 20 teams with 78 golfers coming together for a worthy cause.

Carson City's Catmandu shelter temporarily closed for facility makeover now through July 28

Catmandu will be closed from June 19 to July 27, 2023 for a facility makeover. Almost a decade of helping cats has finally caught up with us. The facility is desperately in need of maintenance, repairs and some necessary improvements. We just can’t put them off any longer.
