FISH strives for little to no rental fees at new apartments for students at North Carson location

Friends In Service Helping continues fundraising for the final $4.4 million of its $17 million budget to complete the construction of the FISH Student Housing and Commercial building at 1455 N. Carson Street, Carson City.

The Silver State Art Festival, known for its unique gourd art displays, is returning to Carson City this weekend, Sept. 8-10 at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall.

Participants will be met with gourd art, ceramics, basketry, painting, photography, and much more from more than 40 award-winning artists.

Carson City Elks Lodge awards $1,000 Scholastic Scholarships

The Nevada State Elks Association provided 27 scholastic awards to students, throughout our state, toward their college expenses. Other cash awards were given to six Legacy Award winners, two Vocational Award winners and five Nursing Scholarship Award winners. Carson City Elks lodge had 3 scholastic recipients at the NSEA level.

Carson City native Zach Harris bikes across America to build homes for Colombians

Zach Harris, a 23 year-old Carson City native who grew up in Kings Canyon, will be cycling 4,205 miles across the country on Sept. 3 to raise money to build homes for the homeless in Colombia.
