Carson City Humane Society's Pet of the Week: Atlas
Happy Wednesday, Carson City! It’s a perfect day to meet Atlas, the newest Pet of the Week.
Atlas is one of the best dogs at the Carson Shelter. At almost 4, he is a gentle treat taker who is food motivated and loves people. He’s hiked many trails in the Northern Nevada wilderness and is so fearless!
Atlas is the definition of playful and wiggly — sitting still is not his thing unless he’s waiting for you to throw the ball and fetch!
He does excellent on car rides and loves children. He does have a higher prey drive due to his energy, so no cats or small animals in the home would be ideal.
When asked to describe himself, here’s what he had to say:
“I am looking for someone to TIRE me out. Like the energizer bunny, I like to hop about waiting for our next adventure together. I have a big heart and a big appetite for activity. I am hoping you can be my best friend, forever family, and walking buddy all in one! Does that sound like you?”
Also, it’s almost time for the Duck Race, one of Atlas’ favorite events! It’s one of the biggest fundraisers for the Shelter and takes place August 12 at Wingfield Park in Reno. You can purchase ducks for a chance to win a new 2023 Toyota Corolla or $15,000 cash, all generously donated by Carson City Toyota. Click here to learn more!
Come on down and meet Atlas by visiting the Carson City branch of the Nevada Humane Society located at 549 Airport Road in Carson City, or by calling (775) 887-2171 to find out more.
