Carson Tahoe Health CEO to speak at Democratic luncheon
The speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Michelle Joy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carson Tahoe Health. CTH is a comprehensive healthcare network composed of two hospitals, two urgent cares, an emergent care center, outpatient services and a provider network with 20 regional locations. Their reach encompassing Carson City, Lake Tahoe, Minden, Carson Valley, South Reno, Dayton, Yerington, and beyond.
Michelle Joy has over 25 years of healthcare executive experience. She joined the CTH team in January 2015 as Chief Operating Officer, becoming President and CEO in August of 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She also completed a two-year fellowship with the Iowa Health System. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 2011, she received the ACHE Colorado Regent's Award for Young Healthcare Executive.
Before joining Carson Tahoe Health, Michelle served in a variety of administrative positions at Mckee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado, North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado, Sterling Regional Medical Center in Sterling, Colorado, and Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California.
When asked what she loves about Carson Tahoe Health, Michelle replied, "I love everything about Carson Tahoe Health. We have the most amazing team of caregivers who are so passionate about the work they do and the care we provide to our community. I am truly honored and humbled to serve as the President and CEO of Carson Tahoe Health."
Michelle enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Rocky, and twin boys, Andrew and Jacob. She and her family love being in Carson City. That love for the community drives her involvement with the Carson City Rotary Club, Western Nevada College's Institutional Advisory Council, the Northern Nevada Development Authority, and numerous other community and school activities.
This event is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, September 11th, and can be attended either in person at Black Bear Diner, inside Max Casino, or online via Zoom.
