Just about everywhere you go, you’ll be treated to something to soothe the soul or get the toes tapping. Get the kids up early for the Young Eagle Flights at the Carson City Airport – they’re free, but you need to be on time for registration. Keep reading and you’ll find a number of ways to enjoy this sunny summer weekend.

A professional actress, you can see her as the new recurring character New Fiona on Shameless Season 7. She will be seen in the feature Shattered, release date 2017. She costars in a feature film Creative Differences. Was a featured mom commentator on The Mom Rules webseries and did the pilot, for Nickelodeons new network, NickMOM called road mamas which she also co-created. You can also see her comic acting regularly and various sketches for CONAN.

CCAI will host a free reception for the artist, Tuesday, August 15, 5-7pm in the Sierra Room. The exhibit will be in the gallery from July 7 – November 9, 2017. Record Turnout for Nevada Artists Association Carson City Photography Exhibit

A judged event, local and regional artists were invited to enter two photos for display in the NAA Gallery exhibit which opened Sunday, August 6, and which will run through Sept. 8, 2017.

The Red Tango performance will still be in the BAC Ballroom from 1 to 3 p.m. as planned. These are all part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival.
Levitt AMP concert moved indoors

Tonight's music, featuring the sounds of Thee Commons as opener and Whatitdo as headline act, will play as scheduled until 10 p.m.

Start the day at the Silver Dollar Car Classic and you can get your fill of shiny chrome and breakfast, too; the Kiwanis will be serving up pancakes until 10:30 a.m. The Downtown Carson City Wine Walk has been infiltrated by the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival. Several of the stops will be hosting musicians, in addition to vino.

Major William Mathew Ormsby was born in 1814 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Ormsby was a teamster, failed horse dealer, citizen at large, visionary and one of the most important figures in the founding of Nevada and its capitol, Carson City. He was killed in 1860 during the Pyramid Lake Paiute uprising.
