'Phantom of the Opera' in outstanding production in Carson City
Submitted by admin on Mon, 11/07/2011 - 7:34pmStephanie Arrigotti has been directing and producing shows for the Western Nevada Musical Theater Company at WAC for several years and every year she brings greater casts and more entertaining shows to the Community Center in Carson City. Friday night she opened "The Phantom of the Opera" to an enthusiastic audience with possibly the biggest first-night numbers in the theater group's history.
And the audience got what it came for — a beautifully staged and directed show with a cast of very talented actors.

The event is a way to show the community that we can help and make a difference. I hope you can attend!
Book Review: 'Breaks, Brains and Balls' the story of Mustang Ranch's Joe Conforte
Submitted by admin on Mon, 11/07/2011 - 5:16pmJoe Conforte is unquestionably one of the originals who made Nevada what it is, for better or worse. His book "Breaks, Brains and Balls," written with the help of local author David W. Toll, is a truly amazing report of how he turned a seedy brothel the Mustang Ranch just off I-80 east of Reno into a Midas machine, and in the process subverted Nevada law or made new Nevada law.
Movie Review: Harold and Kumar take on Christmas — and win
Submitted by admin on Sun, 11/06/2011 - 7:18amI missed the first two films in the "Harold and Kumar" series, but if they were as goofy and off-the-wall funny and nonsensical as "A Very Merry Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas," I've got some catching up to do.
The newest in the franchise is playing at the Fandango Galaxy cineplex in Carson City and watching it is like seeing all the possible gags from Hollywood over the years with a lot of stuff only the drug-using 21st Century could think up.
