I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Dec. 26-27

The gift wrap has been shredded, the eggs nogged, and the carols sung. Now it’s time to show off our great city to your out-of-town visitors. The Nevada State Museum, the twinkling Capitol, and the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada are a good place to start.

SATURDAY:

• Nevada Artists Association Art Exhibit featuring Howard Friedman and Photography by Chas. H. McDonnell, III at the Carson Visitor Center (8am-5pm)
• Coffee and Donuts with EAA Sierra Chapter 403 at 2500 E. College Pkwy (8:30am-12pm, all welcome)
• Food Drive and Sock and Glove Tree for Do Drop In at Evergreen Gene’s: 1811 N. Carson (9am-5pm)
• Arlington Square Ice Rink (Sessions 10am-1pm, 2pm-5pm, 6pm-10pm; $7/$5 kids, $3 Skate Rental)
• Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar Tasting and Pairing Luncheon at the Bistro at Tahoe Ridge Winery (12pm-1:30pm; $20; RSVP 775-473-1790)
• Suds for Seniors Fundraiser at the Feisty Goat Pub: 1881 E. Long St. (4pm-10am; $15 to sample five beers; benefits the Meals on Wheels program; Tickets are available at the Carson Visitor Center and are good through Jan. 30)

• Karaoke hosted by J and J at the Eleventh Frame Winners Lounge, Carson Lanes (7pm-11pm; must be 21+)
• Live Music with the Cliff Porter Trio at Casino Fandango (7pm-12am)
• Live Music with Jimmy Nordin from Sweden (6pm) and Cosmic Bugaloo with Dean Brownell and friends (8pm) at the Red Dog Saloon, Virginia City
