Carson City emergency crews respond to vehicle accidents on Highway 50 East and West

Carson City Fire Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded Saturday night to two separate vehicle accidents that happened minutes apart on Highway 50 East and Highway 50 West.

An 81-year-old Yerington man was found guilty of three counts sexual assault on a child, one count of lewdness with a child under 14, and one count of open and gross lewdness, following a week long jury trial in Lyon County.

Traffic delays after Highway 50 crash along Dayton Hill

UPDATE 11:05AM: NHP Trooper Dan Gordon said the crash involved four vehicles. One person suffered minor injuries and was transported. The cause appears to be motorists not paying attention, which caused a chain reaction at a time of traffic congestion, said Gordon.

Suspect in Silver Springs homicides arrested in California

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the deaths of three people from Silver Springs, Lyon County Sheriff Al McNeil said Wednesday.

Lyon County Sheriff's Office confirms homicide in three Silver Springs deaths

UPDATE 4:52PM: The Lyon County Sheriff's Office investigation into the three deaths this weekend in Silver Springs is now a homicide investigation. According to detectives, they also believe this is an isolated incident, and they want to reiterate what Sheriff Al McNeil stated Sunday, that at no time was there a threat to the community.
