Carson City arrests: Man jailed for two counts suspicion of sexual assault of child
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 07/27/2017 - 11:20amUPDATE FRIDAY: The Carson City District Attorney’s Office, in its criminal complaint, argues the victim was repeatedly sexually abused from the ages of 10 to 12, when the suspect was between the ages 16 to 18 years of age.
The District Attorney’s Office cites Nevada Revised Statutes 171.083 and NRS 171.085 in its prosecution of the case, which can be found here.

The parasite is not a Nevada noxious weed but is cause for concern as it can invade rangeland plants like sagebrush and agricultural crops like onions.

The fire is burning in grass and brush on Bureau of Land Management land. There isn't word yet on any containment.

UPDATE 11:25PM: The fire burning in Brunswick Canyon is reported to be around 3 acres with moderate rate of spread in heavy fire fuels, according to the Carson City Fire Department on-duty battalion chief. Additional brush and type 3 fire engines have been ordered.

Carson City Fire Department was called Tuesday night to a brush fire burning in the Brunswick Canyon area east of Carson City. The fire was reported by several 911 callers right around the same time as a vehicle fire in the Mound House area near the Bunny Ranch.

UPDATE 1:56PM: While the Kit Kat Fire burning east of Carson City near Mound House has been contained with 2.8 acres having burned, firefighters were called to the Silver Springs, Stagecoach area for a two-acre fire, called the Coleman Fire, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The wildfire is burning near Coleman Drive. It was reported at 1:13 p.m.

The Road Department has filed a report with Lyon County Sheriff's Office and may be installing video surveillance until the road can be open, said Lyon County Manager Jeff Page.
