A powerful spring storm moving into the Sierra, Carson City and western Nevada regions will bring drenching rains, gusty winds and the potential for river flooding through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Central Lyon Fire responded to a structure fire on Grosh Avenue in Dayton at 10:31 Thursday morning. First units arrived on scene at 10:37 a.m. to a fully involved fire in a single family residence.

UPDATE 12:20PM: Both Carson City and Lyon County sheriff's offices have released initial statements regarding Saturday morning's high speed pursuit on U.S. Highway 50 East through Lyon County that ended near Flint Drive in East Carson City.

A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday at 11:25 p.m. near the intersection of N. Carson and E. Park streets for misdemeanor drunken pedestrian and a violation of bail conditions warrant out of Carson City Justice Court.

The Lyon County District Attorney's office released a statement Thursday evening about the case against Robert Paul Eikelberger, a Reno man suspected in a 2016 murder who remains out of custody.

A Yerington man has been identified in a fatal crash that happened Monday night on State Route 208 in Lyon County.

A 29-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail this weekend on stolen weapon, drug possession and drug sales charges, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team.

A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday after drinking from a bottle of top shelf whiskey he allegedly stole from a William Street grocery store, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
