New retro food ‘truck,’ Press Coffee and Waffles, rolling into Carson City this month
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 05/10/2019 - 2:03pmPress Coffee and Waffles is Carson City’s newest mobile eatery, and will be hitting the streets sometime this month to serve up two of America's favorite breakfast items to the capital city and surrounding areas.
Press Coffee and Waffles is stationed out of a vintage 1960s food cart. The cart in and of itself is eye catching, with rounded curves in an example of classic retro-futurism, which, said co-owner Aaron Gorton, is one of only 150 ever made.
Carson City-based Ageless Aviation expands fleet of Stearmans to honor military veterans

Come get your questions answered first and then hang out afterward as new volunteer training will begin. See first hand how the organization works. Both meetings begin at 5 p.m.
Blu Jaz to perform at Carson City's Bella Fiore Wines this Friday and Saturday
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 05/07/2019 - 11:04amBlu Jaz will perform this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, at Bella Fiore Wines in Carson City. The four-piece band has quite a following. Blu Jaz performa a steady diet of blues and jazz coupled with a few dance upbeat songs.
They're becoming somewhat a fixture at Bella Fiore Wines, located at 224 S. Carson Street in the McFadden Plaza. The band consists of Myke Smith, on saxes, Bradley Harris, guitarist and harmonica, Paul Bonaldi, on drums and Tim Goldsmith on bass.

V&T Railway 2019 season begins with Mother’s Day train Saturday and Sunday

Guests will experience a 24-mile round-trip ride through the historic Comstock, departing Carson City (Eastgate Depot) at 10 a.m. and will arrive in Virginia City at approximately 11:30 a.m., before returning to Carson at 4:15 p.m.

Join Muscle Powered as we walk along the very actively-flowing river. Kingfishers, hawks, and waterfowl are often seen along this stretch of the river. Hike distance will range between 2-4 miles, depending on trail condition. Water and closed-toes shoes are REQUIRED. Hat and sunscreen recommended.

Meet in the dirt area opposite Murphy Drive on Combs Canyon Road to carpool to the trailhead. Water and sturdy closed-toe shoes required. Hat, sunscreen and hiking poles recommended.
Bring a friend and/or friendly dogs. All hikes are 2-4 miles with duration of about 90 minutes, sometimes with elevation gains of 500’ or more.
