The Fourth of July holiday period is upon us and signifies the busiest time of year in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit asks residents and visitors to share in the stewardship of their public lands, and to keep the following tips in mind to help everyone enjoy a safe and fun holiday.

Bingo night fundraiser held Saturday for local boy in critical condition following vehicle accident

A Family Bingo Night fundraiser for a local boy, Bryar Phelps, who was injured in a vehicle accident and is now in critical care, is scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at 5 p.m. in the Carson Mall Shopping Center.

All proceeds from the event will go toward Bryar and his family.

The Ron Wood Family Resource Center in Carson City received a donation of 1,000 pair of Bombas socks. The donation, valued at $12,000, comes from Bombas' thoughtfulness of "Giving Back" to the community.
