90,000 Meals Served Annually: It's Your City puts spotlight on Carson City Meals on Wheels
In this week's edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer talks with Courtney Warner, director of the Carson City Senior Center. Among the many activities offered through the center, its supportive services include onsite lunches and the popular Meals on Wheels program.
Operational in Carson City since the 1970s, Meals on Wheels provides outreach to homebound seniors and delivers to approximately 300 people a day, serving 90,000-plus meals a year. See the video below or click here.
The program is funded through mainly through the Older Americans Act, grant money and through charitable donations.
