Carson City Fire Department was called Wednesday night to a single-vehicle crash into a tree in the area of College Drive and Combs Canyon Road.

UPDATE 1:40PM: The resident was advised she had a burned electrical socket and that she should call an electrician to get it fixed. Firefighters were released from the scene.

Carson City Fire Department was called Monday afternoon to the 300 block of B Street for a report of a structure fire inside a single-wide mobile home.

Carson City Fire Department was called Monday morning to a gas line break in the 2900 block of Oakridge Drive, according to dispatch.

Beginning Saturday, March 25 the Carson City Fire Department will allow open burning with a permit through April 23, 2017. The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called at around 1:15 p.m. Thursday for a vehicle crash in the 200 block of South Carson Street.

A two-year-old girl was found unresponsive at a Manzanita Terrace home Friday and was pronounced dead at the hospital after Carson City sheriff's deputies and paramedics were called to a north Carson City residence for a report the child had fallen, said Sheriff Ken Furlong.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Friday afternoon to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the parking lot of University Heights Apartments at 290 West College Parkway. It is the second vehicle crash involving a pedestrian today.

UPDATE 1:23PM: Carson City emergency crews were called Friday afternoon to the area of Saliman and Fairview for a two vehicle traffic accident, the fifth accident since around 8 this morning.

UPDATE 9:28AM: The first crash involved three vehicles and a driver going the wrong way. A female motorist was unconscious and flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Gordon. Her condition is unknown at this time. The crash is under investigation.

At least one person was seriously injured in a vehicle crash that happened Friday morning on Highway 50 East near Gold Dust West and the I580 overpass.

The Carson City Senior Center and Sheriff Ken Furlong announced Thursday they are partnering with Carson City Fire Department to form a new senior education program encompassing issues related to public safety and health.

A 40-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of a third DUI following a traffic stop, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

UPDATE 3:54PM: The evacuation has been lifted for homes and businesses around the area of Nevada and William Street following a gas leak earlier this afternoon. The area is now considered safe and free of gas vapors. Carson City Public Works and Southwest Gas remain on the scene.

UPDATE 3:37PM: The gas leak at Nevada and William Street has been stopped. Carson City firefighters are now processing the area to determine when it is deemed safe to allow people back into homes and businesses. The city has provided an updated map of the affected area. Carson City Fire Department has been called to the 1800 block of Fall Street on Wednesday night for a structure fire inside an apartment complex.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Sunday evening to a two-vehicle crash in the 3300 block of South Carson Street near Applebee's.

Carson City Fire Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Wednesday around 5:45 p.m. to a two vehicle traffic accident in the westbound lane of College Parkway east of the I-580 overpass, according to dispatch.

Sean Slamon of Modesto, Calif., has been picked to serve as Carson City’s new fire chief, City Manager Nick Marano announced Wednesday. A panel consisting of local fire chiefs and Marano recently conducted interviews for the position.

An investigation into Thursday’s fire at an Imperial Way apartment concluded the cause of the blaze was the ignition of an oxygen tank due to smoking, a Carson City acting fire battalion chief said.

UPDATE 11:10 AM: Firefighters have put out the fire at an apartment in the 3300 block of Imperial Way. The fire was discovered by paramedics who had arrived at the residence on a medical call for a female victim.
Smoke was observed to be pouring out of the apartment unit when responders first arrived. Paramedics were able to locate and remove the female victim safely from the apartment, and firefighters doused the flames.

The Graphics Factory, a full service screen printing and embroidery shop in Carson City, has moved from its former location on East William Street between State Street and Saliman Road to 1400 South Carson Street next door to Batteries Plus.

Three men were arrested late Friday night at 11:41 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmunds Drive in Carson City on multiple felony offenses, including the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, the arrest report from the Carson City Sheriff's Office said.

A Coleville, Calif., man was arrested early Thursday for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery after fighting with his sister, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
