There was no damage to structures in the fire. The cause is under investigation.

In addition, the Carson City Fire Department has now implemented shooting restrictions on city and privately owned lands including “open space lands” within Carson City.

UPDATE 1:56PM: While the Kit Kat Fire burning east of Carson City near Mound House has been contained with 2.8 acres having burned, firefighters were called to the Silver Springs, Stagecoach area for a two-acre fire, called the Coleman Fire, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The wildfire is burning near Coleman Drive. It was reported at 1:13 p.m.

The cause of the fire, between 1 to 2 acres, is under investigation. A Carson City sheriff's deputy was told by the homeowner the fire started from a lawnmower. There were no structures that burned.

Firefighters arrived at the residence in the 1000 block of Koontz Lane and found smoke in a bedroom where the fire had been smoldering. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department was called just before noon to a brush fire in the 4000 block of Village Drive near Pheasant and Fairview.
The call came into dispatch as a brush fire moving toward trees and nearby residences.
